In movies, if someone is wearing a military uniform, the producers are required by law to represent the uniform with at least one visible flaw, as not to be impersonating a member of the armed services.
So, if that extends to this as well, I would ask to what ends? I mean, no reasonably intelligent person goes through trouble to get something like this with even the possibility it isn't real unless they stand to gain something from it.
