The US food industry is making a fortune making kids fat and the drug industry is making a fortune doping kids up on expensive drugs for over diagnosed medical conditions.

Happy one year anniversary!!!

Waaay back when I was in grade school, there were around 40 kids in a class,
1 teacher & no aides. And no problems!
The school day was longer, we didn't leave the room except for lunch, recess,
& gym class (a couple times a week).
There were no kids with behavior problems, no restlessness, no talking out in class,
no learning disabilities.....

There was one boy that was a slower reader, & a couple of kids that weren't very good spellers,
but they came from very big families, & I always figured they didn't get as much help
with homework as the kids from smaller families.

When I went back & looked at my 8th grade graduation picture, the only kid
in the whole grade, (around 75 kids), that we considered fat back then, would be considered
a normal weight now. There were more skinny kids back then than normal ones!

What has changed most? I blame a lot of it on all the processed food.
If you wanted something to eat before, you had to make it! Not anymore!
We eat more stuff that is made in a plant, than is grown on a plant! (Dr. Oz)
Watch the episode of his show from the 3rd, he had Dr. William Davis on.
He wrote, "Wheat Belly". Very informative show!

So many problems are from our food & how it's being grown!
Modern wheat will raise blood sugar levels up to 2 times higher than a candy bar!!!
No wonder we have so many problems! Just ask someone with Celiac disease!
Another 'new disease' that's growing rapidly!!!

Someone mentioned people saying, 'if it wasn't safe to eat, they wouldn't make it/sell it!'
Of course it has nothing to do with the big profits from fake, franken foods!!!

It's the dumbing down of America! There's an epidemic of lack of common sense!
And unfortunately it's very contagious!!!

Simply answer. Screw government. I no longer CARE what there intentions are. I just care about results. Since everything has been "it's for the children" children and family's have been hurting. You no longer can punish children for anything, they have been taught how to blackmail their parents, up to and including framing them for kiddie porn taught how to do it in school.

It would be far better for the majority of children if we could get the government and the do gooders to no longer have say over kids. It is better for a few to be abused then it is for all of them to be destroyed. That is what is happening. Let some get hurt! That is how you learn! They are no longer allowed to be hurt by their actions, oh it is for the children! You hurt them more by protecting them. Let them play, let them lose, let them LIVE! The do gooders prevent that from happening to the detriment of them and their familys.

And now thanks to your avatar 1 in 100,000 has blurred vision
On topic : what is happening? misunderstandings that not everyone is the perfect example of normal .
Not in all cases like obesity which is most likely caused from overeating

First sentence?

Too funny!

On topic....

Children have a lack of morals and principles.

Blame the Parents, or Parent.

Saturated animal fat is good for the brain. Meat contains vitamins and minerals in the proportions and combinations needed for our bodies to absorb them easily .
We have cut real red meat and saturated fats out of diets everywhere, especially over the last 35 years, and increased our consumption of artificially produced plant oils and corn sugars and soy products etc. that don't give the same nutritional outcomes.
And even when we do eat meat, it has been fed corn instead of grass fed meaning US beef no longer contains Omega 3 like it does in other countries where their cows eat grass like they are supposed to.
These are the causes, and the O.P.'s stated problems are the effects.
The brain is made of fats and proteins.
Nutritionists are constantly repeating the fallacy that our brains run on carbs, this is not its prefered energy source. It likes fat.
If we just went back to the old diet we used to eat, we would see a change for the better very soon afterwards.

One issue in the US is the things they are adding to the drinking water. Some states and local counties have voted to remove the Flouride but the feds stepped in and said they have to. Why? Also the Gmo foods have been linked to infertility so it probably isn't a stretch it can be a cause of Autism. Obesity seems simple, they are sitting around on their cell phones watching Youtube and playing on Fb. Even if obesity is part genetic it wouldn't actually mean they will be fat.

10 years from now they will be asking "What happened to him? Why did he turn out like this?"
It's amazing how parents like that end up with a dysfunctional child and wonder what happened to him/her. They will blame anything and everything, but they'll never consider that it was their own fault.

Parents these days are constantly working. That's problem #1. Both parents are always at work striving for the "American dream" (More like debt slavery nightmare). Child doesn't get to spend much time with them. Child grows up and doesn't respect them, doesn't like them very much, does whatever he/she wants because there was no guidance or authority or bonding of any kind.

"Honey, what's wrong with him/her?"
This is where the most common excuses are utilized:
"I don't know, it must be ADHD, or these raunchy television programs, or all that modern music, or all these damned violent video games and movies. Lets blame all those, because it certainly isn't our fault at all!"

Kids need to spend time with both parents. If they aren't able to make enough money to keep up with their materialistic lifestyle AND find enough time to be around their kids and run a stable household, choose one or the other. Either downsize or don't have kids. Parents who raise their kids in a latchkey household get what they deserve.

It kind of makes you wonder if they are scratching each others backs, doesn't it? Food industry loads their products with so much garbage that give kids physical and mental health problems, and the pharmaceutical companies save the day with their "cures". If that's what they are up to, it's genius. It would be like a camera manufacturer striking up a deal with a battery manufacturer, then purposely manufacturing their cameras to eat through batteries like Charlie Sheen going through a bottle of Vicodin.

Wait, wait, wait. Framing parents for kiddie porn? How exactly would that work?
I've never heard of that, and I've pretty much heard everything.

Their parents are delusional religious doomtards..

They spent all these years brainwashing their children into believing all sorts of nonsense. How do you think the kids will feel when they watch their parents go insane as the day they lived their whole lives for never comes.

Religion is poisoning everything... its making everyone apathetic.. not empathetic. Its a parasite that must be contained or removed.

I meant to add that these additives they add to the drinking water are being linked to lower IQ's. I was just reading about it yesterday somewhere. I agree we are better at diagnosing and being aware but that's not why there are more issues. Something is causing Autism, it just wasn't around as much in the past as it is now. Sure many times its simply bad parenting but I know plenty of good parents that have kids with behavior issues, Autism etc.

Also some of these people who would have died due to allergies or an asthma attack in the past are now surviving childhood, becoming parents to 2 or 3 kids and passing on their 'bad genes' to yet another bigger generation.
Survival of the fittest has been circumvented by medicine and science and the numbers of "special people" in society will continue to grow until either we become able to manipulate genes to eradicate these maladies OR medical intervention becomes so expensive that it is beyond the finances of the average family and they die off.
Here's hoping some of these peoples problems are psychosomatic.

Maybe learning disability has been redefined as has autism. When I was young I wasn't in daycare or pre school learning spanish words and math skills. Adults shielded kids from violence and it was inappropriate to dress daughters in sexy attire. It was never cute when a 3 yo cussed. Now we laugh when 3 year olds get sassy. Isn't it great that your 7 year old snagged a boy friend or sad When parents are concerned that their child must be gay because their son is still a virgin at 12. If your child isnt in algebra by 8th grade you might as well spend his college fund. If we took our child back in time to the 50's, they would be in the psychiatic unit. They are stressed out. There is just too much going on for them to relax. A LEANING DISABILITY IS A CHILD THAT CAN'T READ IN KINDERGARTEN. A child is disabled if they can't multitask. A child is disabled if their phone lacks internet access on the baseball field. A 4 year old must know how to put together a power point. When I was 4 I was praised for tying my shoes and wasn't even expected to learn right and left until 1st grade.

I was wondering when Wertdagf would show up to derail the thread into a religion sh*tstorm like he does with so many other threads. Not one other person mentioned religion until he made an appearance.

Anyways, I'm glad most of you got the chance to make good informative posts, because the thread may take a nosedive now.

A few summers ago, I had a part time job as an assistant to a school psychologist.
She was the area coordinator, but pretty much each school had their own "special needs" teachers.
She did testing for these students.

My job was to bring order to her office which she was mostly out of all the school days.
The backlog of files that had reports and test results scattered willy nilly was unbelievable.
Stacked on chairs, stacked on shelves, stacked on the floor.

Tests scattered everywhere untaken. It was such a scene of disorder, it really made you wonder about
the system. I started by just sorting the tests into WISC and Standford-Binet and MMPI.
Tests for every kind of learning and developmental disability imaginable.
I would say I came across about 9 different testing protocols.

It dawned on me that the schools WANT to find something wrong with these children because they get a lot
more funding.
Granted, looking at the tests, some seemed genuinely to have a disability, or were behind in learning.
But, some were just lazy and didn't apply themselves.

The problem is that once all the expensive testing is done, the kids remain in the same classroom due to
No Child Left Behind. Then the entire classroom dumbed down accordingly so that these kids could "keep up".
So there they are drugged by the school nurse, as prescribed, due to these test results.

When I was there, the school had not let out for summer break yet. So for the first week or so, I arrived just before the last bell. This was a middle school where her office was based.
It was brand new. There was a police officer or two roaming the halls. Their office right next to hers.
The school itself was designed like a prison. No distracting windows to the outside. Designed with a star-pattern of five wings.

I came away not wanting my children or grandchildren going to these new schools. It was just awful.
So this might answer your question of what is wrong with the kids. It's what's wrong with the schools.

Threads that suffer "uncontrollable nosebleeds" do so because of a lack of meaningful content and/or serious forethought as to presentation. So it always rests on the OP to keep a thread on track. No one person ever has the ability, much less the power, to derail a thread...............especially on 'religious' grounds. Whining isn't a solution - intelligent input is.

As stated earlier it might have been better if you had asked something like -->

What on earth is happening to America?

then you might have gotten more input. The problems we face are systemic and not confined to the notion of the kids going wrong or whatever. Children aren't isolated little lab animals - they are brought into a corrupted system as were their parents.

America has rejected religion and Christ in favor of Satan's handiwork, and they will suffer greatly for it. The early signs of that suffering are with us as we speak............this is only the beginning!

For example this from today's news - Just two of hundreds of such incidents a day in America. School Replaces Baby Jesus with Frosty the Snowman

Seniors decry ban on Christmas tree as a 'religious' symbol in their apt complex in Newhall
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is your (mis-placed) concern for American children only? What about the "Children of Gaza" as they suffer under the oppressive hand of the Jews - the Zionist's - the neo-Nazi's who run the state of Israel? Care about them OK!!!

While alot of the blame may be the food, lack of activity, outside sources, what do all of these things have in common?

The parents.
How many take 1/2 a day to actually go outside and play with their kids?
How many actually take the time to read a label?
How many actually take the time to cook a healthy meal?
How many will turn the t.v. off, and maybe pickup a book?

It just isn't happening anywhere near as often as it did 20-30 years ago.

The problems can be written in a few short words or phrases:

Monsanto
Pollution from the Industrial Revolution and beyond.....
Multiple Vaccinations starting at birth....
Necessity for 2 income households while leaving strangers with questionable values raise our kids while we work
Video Games (although not all are bad)
Families without elders in their lives....
Fear to leave the house and play down the street for fear of abductions and pedophiles
Our schools grooming children to toe the line...and the reality that recess is all but extinct!

There are more I am sure but cant think right now.....
