Sorry to take so long to get back to you. I should have explained the wrist mala better. I use 3 each (mine are 8mm round beads) of the first 9
gemstones listed that makes the 27 count. Then I have one larger smoky quartz bead that is offset and used as a start/stop point of reference. You
work your way around it one bead at a time; breathing, chanting or repeating a mantra. When you reach the guru bead you stop and turn it around and
go back the other way. The guru bead is never included in the practice or passed over.
I have included a link below that explains the practice and why/when you would use strings of varying numbers. Hope that helps explain it a little
better. If you can find a mala give it a try.
