Anyone else receive a strange phone call today? Possible attack on Toronto, ON?

Hello ATS, I would like to share an odd experience I had today. I was taking a break from work today, and went to go check my cell phone, when I noticed a phone call coming through. I had had my cell on silent, but just so happened to check the phone just as this call was coming through. The number was marked 'PRIVATE NUMBER' and I was a little confused and hesitant about answering it, but curiosity got the better of me and I decided to answer it
Upon answering the phone I was prompted by an automated message. The voice on the line was the same voice used by the internet hack group 'Anonymous'. The voice began by telling me that I should leave the city of Toronto, ON within the next week, in which time, the message claimed there would be an impending nuclear disaster. Upon hearing this, I was quite confused and wasnt quite sure what to make of the call I had just received.
At this point, I took the phone away from my face and tried putting it on speaker phone as there were other people in the room, and i wanted them to hear this. Unfortunately, because of either the quality of my speaker phone, or the noise in the room, I was unable to make out much of what i had put on speaker phone. I did manage to hear something about taking off my clothes or something similar and a mention of some sort of bunker.
Then the call just ended.
I have no idea what to make of this experience, it doesnt seem to have been any of my friends playing a prank on me, and if it is someone playing a prank, i cant think of who it possibly could be. This whole situation was very strange. Has anyone else on ATS experienced anything like this?

Never. If it were me, I'd consider reporting it to the police. Prank or not, still a pretty serious threat.

Well, Im not really interested in stars or flags. I just thought it was a strange phone call and the story belonged here on ATS. Am interested in knowing if anyone else has received similar calls. I dont believe it to be any of my friends, so it leaves me wondering, who left this message?

What don't you buy? My story? Do you think its inconceivable that I received this random phone call? It's probably a prank, but it did in fact happen.

The "pics or it didn't happen" crowd aside, I agree with the other poster who said you should report it. Maybe let all your friends know that you are going to beforehand, just in case.

Could have been just the wrong number!! You know ment for someone else. I personally hate those privete numbered calls and like to imagin myself not answering. But curiosity always gets me .

Is it something to worry about, my guess would be a no. I have never been able to understand why some or any would get legit warnings of impending doom. Maybe your lucky. Maybe if really concerned report the call to authorities. That may not hurt anyway to report it.

Fine, report it to the police. and then id like to see said police report uploaded here (blocking out all personal info of course) then ill buy it. until then, this belongs elsewhere. like the grey area or skunkworks

I am not concerned enough to report the incident to authorities, as I think its far more likely to be a prank than any sort of "real inside information" I don't think I'm that special that I would get selected to be 'saved' if you will. I really wish I hadnt answered the call so it would have gone to voicemail so I could review it further. I will be awaiting beside my phone for any future calls, and i will be sure to post any updates here on ATS.

I'd report it to te police or FBI...I believe that is a form of a Threat.... ..and that Is a very good question as to why you got at call.

If you think it was a fake, then why on earth load up your computer, go to ats, and then start a thread about it. ridiculous.

Well for one, I did not come home, load up my computer, go straight to ATS to post this thread. I have been home for several hours and browsing the net. I was just here on ATS and thought maybe it was a good spot to share this story. I actually dont know WHAT to think of it. But I sure as hell feel more comfortable thinking its possibly a prank. If you had read the post, I was actually wondering if anyone else had received this strange call, so as to help determine if this is a one off thing, or possibly happening to others as well. I'm sorry for posting my story and wasting all that precious time that you spend on the internet reading REAL conspiraciy theories.

Internet prank calling. You can use tons of different website for it. Like, Prankdial.com, they are pretty fun at the office. Had one guy that kept thinking irate customers were calling him back and he spent ages getting worked up over it.

Toronto is not in the US. Therefor no FBI. We have cowboys on horses for that.

I live in Toronto and I did not receive any such call. Someone was probably pranking you.... Relax .... Tomorrow will be just another day ...
