not sure what title will describe this one.

had a dream last night, very horrible. very disturbing. I don't think it is a prediction but it might mean something later on?

I was in a big city and 'something' happens so there is no power, no gas and no running water.

The city is in total chaos, people who could not get home were stuck in another part of the city; violence errupted and people began to fight each other; families were hiding from other people to protect themselves and hiding food etc; I spoke to a young couple with two young children, they were living rough because it had gone on for a lot longer and could not be fixed and the military were called in and just after I spoke to the young family, I saw the military found where they were hiding and killed them and their children.

Like everyone thought, oh it will be ok and be fixed soon, but the problem or whatever caused the situation could not be fixed. Life could not be restored.

I looked around and I did not recognise the city but then I saw a man walking and everyone expected him to solve the crisis, he was well known, maybe a politician? there were mobs of people around him, people began to scatter and he was killed, murdered right in front of everyone, in broad daylight. All I heard in the dream was that he was Latin American.

There were dead bodies left in the street, decomposing, those people that were alive and hiding were walking past them or even stepping over them and didn't care. This was what life had become for them I guess and they were hardened to it.

Really graphic dream and even in the dream, while I was walking around looking at all of this, I was covering my eyes because it was so bloody and violent.

ew... perhaps it could relate to the cartels in Mexico? Maybe something bad is going to happen?

I don't know exactly what caused it to happen but the entire city was in chaos.

Nothing to worry about! We get TONS of folks having horrible dreams every week here, thinking that it is in some form a "prediction" of something to happen soon. But the result is ALWAYS the same --- NOTHING!!! NOTHING AT ALL HAPPENS!! Its just a DREAM.

oh I hope so.

Mexico is a violent place so perhaps i am just dreaming about the kinds of things that happen there, but I have not had such a violent and bloody dream before. Vivid and graphic, just horrible.

The thread was moved but when I tried to find it in the BTS recent posts, it isn't coming up? so, I am bumping it to see if it shows up.

oh well, must be a real non-event then...

Just a bad dream, don't worry about it. The people in the military are our people, most of them won't turn on us even if ordered to. There may be a few crazies in all ranks of the military but they are few, most getting that way from bad experiences in the war. They are our kids, relatives, friends, and so on so forth, they are not our enemies. Your dream is just a nightmare.

yes I suppose, but look what has happened in Egypt and now in Syria, the Egyptian military were killing their own citizens and even Syria, depends on which side your on?

I didn't understand why the young family was killed especially by the military. That surprised me cos in a disaster or chaotic event, the military are called in to help.

If I had thought some of the nightmares I've had were signs of things to come I'd have probably seriously topped myself years ago.

I have the worst, most abhorrent and disgusting nightmares imaginable. To the point where you have to submit to the terror to survive it in there. Once you give in to the demons in your dreams, they lose interest. like any negative thinking. Once you tend to it with curiosity, looking for it with interest.. it slips away.

nightmares do similar... let those dogs maul me... let the sun fall.. learn to enjoy that gut wrenching feeling as you plummet to the earth from the highest of hights... once you stop feeling what it is you are supposed to feel, it can be exhilarating.

But the sort where you see the world as normal, yet has changed and you cannot fully see how, perhaps they are the worst. They don't confront you with terror. they twist things, subtly. And when things feel normal, but react against the norm..

i dunno, that does me more mental damage as I wake..

But armageddon has come and gone countless times in my slumber. Demons have ripped me limb from limb, relatives have had such evil intent that it burns, deformed alien animals have pursued me endlessly...

if I could plug my head into a computer, and charge people to come have a gander at my horrorshow, I'd be flippin' rich!!!!

omg I am so glad I am not you

I have had some moderately violent dreams in the past but never so graphic as the one I had last night... I would not want to have night-mares like that on a regular basis.

Wow... now that was a bad dream.

Let's hope it stays a nightmare. Were there anything in particular you might have done or watched that could have brought on the dream..

nothing to do with latin America, only following the news lately about the Gaza conflict.

That is violent so perhaps that could have contributed.

The thing that scared me the most was that I was 'observing' what was happening and talking to People concerned, then while the young family were executed I was standing nearby but could not be seen.

I woke up then and the viewing of it reminded me of another dream I had years ago, I was in a tropical place and walking around watching people, suddenly people began to panic and run, I felt the wind pick up in the dream and in the dream I hid underground and then woke up, well farout, 2 days later, there is a bloody hurricane hit one of the tropical islands, can't remember the name of it now... then I was lilke, omg I had a dream about a big storm.

I don't understand what is wrong in Egypt, Maybe there is more to this than we are being allowed to see. I know that the guy who took charge is trying to become a dictator and pushing muslim rule, so it may have something to do with that. Hopefully alienation won't ever happen here. If protesters get violent here, some soldier may also shoot them, the person getting violent is not being civil and if they endanger others they are guilty of a crime. Civility needs to be observed at all times. Protesters who do violent things are not just protesters, they are criminals.

Now that is a scary dream. Every now and then I have an equally detailed and scary dream that feels like it could be a prediction of things to come, but my dreams have never come true, so... I never put any stock into them.

As another said, we do get lots of people posting their dreams and wondering if it is a prediction of the future, but to my knowledge, no dream posted on ATS has come true yet, so I hope knowing that helps to put your mind at ease.

Peace and love.

ok, eons ago I had a dream and posted it up:

Fearful Prediction ??? Fear Feeling 2007

I posted that info up before all the info was released on tele. Anyway, my point is that I have random dreams that are quite ordinary but the ones like this one, they are different and well, I will just have to wait and see if anything similar happens like my dream.

love to you too

Well, here are some that HAVE come true, and I have seen many more here and on other websites that have also come true.
www.abovetopsecret.com...

I consider dreams to be a "heads up" sometimes, but not always. It's hard to distinguish the difference. If a dream sticks with you for weeks, then it could possibly be a premonition.

hey thx, I didn't even know about that thread!

I am starting to think Mexico need to bring the military in and clean up. But in the dream, the People I was talking to were defeated, it was like the problem could not be fixed and this is the way their life is now.

2) I don't know exactly what caused it to happen but the entire city was in chaos.

Dreams are about yourself (with extremely rare exceptions which are identifiable and this is not one), so:

1) What you are basically saying here is that this is what life has become for you. For example, a person, say , an artist, would refer to an aspect of yourself, an interest in art. To see this person die means that for some reason or other that part of yourself has died. This can happen when anything, whether it be peer pressure or personal perceptions are sufficiently strong to 'kill' all interest in art. Every human being is born with the potential to be interested in everything, and if circumstances allow, one would develop with a very, very broad range of interests. However, all sorts of things in the modern world (including the education system) work to kill most of those inclinations and interests.

A city is a busy place full of all kinds of people and therefore represents a busy mind full of all sorts of interests. If people are dying then one's interests are dying. The manner of the death is instructive but I will not go into that here.

2) This simply means that your mind is in chaos. Potentially this could be that you don't know how to organise your affairs (including interests, money, social networking, your domestic life etc., etc..). People often suffer from this and e.g. might find difficulty managing their money. Often it is believed that this is a personality trait but it is not. It is quite simple to learn how to organise things, but it is not a 'cool' subject nowadays and so is quite hard to find books or courses that cover it. There amy be opportunity - you may even find yourself attracted - to some job or activity that involves organising things. If so, chase it.

winofiend: the glue that makes nightmares stick and recur is emotion: calm down, stop reacting and they go. The reason curiosity will work is because it involves a sort of detachment which is, in other words, a substitution of intellectualisation for emotionalism. Emotionalism, or as is currently popular, passion, is really bad news. It makes more than nightmares stick. It makes bad events recur, bad situations, bad relationships etc., etc.. Apart form a few strict adherents to some religions, I doubt if there is a person alive today who is not suffering the consequences of being over emotional. As I advised in another thread, meditation is a good start to calming down. You have no idea how much better you will feel and how much better you will cope with life if you just 'dry out' a bit - and I'm not talking about wine which is definitely the best medication available for almost everything, on or off prescription, but emotions.
