I’m the first to admit that I believe we (humans) are on a fast track to complete destitution. Every country in this world will be affected at some level soon - it’s just a matter of time. I never really believed the Mayan’s (who were obviously a gifted, learned people) really accurately predicted that the great CHANGE that would occur in 2012, based on their knowledge of our solar system’s cycles, was the complete destruction of civilization. It really seems far-fetched that anyone could accurately predict cataclysmic events hundreds or thousands of years in advance when modern meteorologists can’t even accurately predict next month’s weather BUT…..we appear to be on a serious (predicted) downward spiral as a society. If we REALLY look at the direction of our society we can see what our future holds…and it’s not good.

ATHENS (Reuters) - The number of people in Greece trying to kill themselves is rising as economic crisis deepens, according to official figures.

There were 677 suicide attempts in 2009, 830 in 2010 and 927 in 2011, Public Order Minister Nikos Dendias said in a written response to lawmakers' questions.

Greece in heading towards a sixth year of recession in 2013. The crisis has thrown one in five out of work and gross domestic product has shrunk by a fifth. Many Greeks blame spending cuts and tax hikes demanded by lenders - the European Union and International Monetary Fund - for their plight.
Yahoo

The course we’re on is very well represented by the direction of Greece in every sense. Socialism and the cradle-to-grave society is a popular theme today and it’s leading to complete failure in Europe and America. I’m not suggesting that suicide will be the end of our civilization but I am suggesting that people of ALL countries are inching closer and closer to the despair we’re seeing today in Greece.

I wonder if the ‘great awakening’ the Mayan’s predicted for civilization in 2012 was the realization that huge societies and centralized governments lead to the demise of independence and self-reliance??? What say you?

Yeah, pretty much.

The correct answer doesn't always have to be the most complex.

I never expected that we'd see the 'end of the world' in 2012. Things are always more subtle than that.

I hope what I prescribed is the great paradigm shift we can expect....I'm not sure how things could shift much farther in the other direction.

How do YOU KNOW that these suicides are self inflicted?
I mean, the goverment could be black bagging these people(some of them) because they are able to influence things in some way, Or even so they can get the death taxes......Lot of rich ones takin the high dive???
Any despondent activists who were riding a wave of unprecedented popularity?
How about cops and troops with reservations about the goverments policies?
Any highly placed captains of inductry suddenly calling it in, and fading into the sunset?
I am sure you get my drift here..........and i am sure this kind of gvernance is comming to our own neighbourhoods soon.....

Well, we have to get to that precipice as a majority before things can turn around.
This "shift" is something I've passed through in 2008, it seems to be on an individual basis, and for many it only happens when they hit their personal precipice of rock bottom.

I've been on the upswing ever since and haven't looked back. Once we get the 100th monkey effect started, we'll flip from Yin to Yang. It's already began, there's no going backward, though many will to get to their precipice breaking points.

Suicide

the act or an instance of taking one's own life voluntarily and intentionally especially by a person of years of discretion and of sound mind

I mean, the goverment could be black bagging these people(some of them) because they are able to influence things in some way, Or even so they can get the death taxes......Lot of rich ones takin the high dive???

Who is it that’s asking for more government? The people in Greece killing themselves are doing so out of desperation based on what I’m reading. These are the same people asking for more handouts and cradle to grave support. People who are ‘on top of the world’ typically don’t end their own lives. Suicide is always more prevalent in areas of elevated despair and hardship.

We cant collectively, as humans, realize life is important. When we can get past human greed, collectively, then we can take the next step of our evolution. That is if we don't destroy ourselves as we evolve.......

I say that is is painfully obvious that collectivism, authoritarianism and centralization of force is on the fast track, while individualism, self reliance and limited government is DOA.

There are complete centuries in history when the future of mankind looked a lot more grim than it does today. Of course, that was a long time before the creation of the hysteria network known as the internet.

It used to be as you say….where people sacrificed for the good of everyone. Greed and jealously has taken over those who are more fortunate and (most recently in modern society) those who are less fortunate. This is an orchestrated situation by those who seek to monopolize power. In the end it will lead to a greater consolidation of wealth facilitated by the greed of the less fortunate (which is most of us).

This is a cycle that we’ve seen play out throughout history; The Romans come to mind first.

Where did that lead for the people of that time? The outcome is apparent…and we're facilitating the repeat of history by our own greed!

Good thing cause the Mayans never saw the Spanish coming, or the recent "revelations" reported that all their deforestation was another thing that lead to their demise.

Self destruction is mankinds greatest gift to himself.

No, self destruction is mankind's greatest gift to nature.

We are what brings nature out of balance.
Not our CO2, our toys like sodium fluoride in the water, mercury and lead garbage leaked into the soil and water tables, HAARP, and nuclear power plants.

Wanna try agian?

Mother nature can take care of herself, as in the Mayans cut down too many trees only to have their cities retaken by them, just like clear land that gets neglected for years return to what it was once more.

Nature isn't just talking about the planet's exterior itself, it also involves all the life forms that inhabit it. Life forms we are altering and abusing, and killing.

The planet doesn't need our help, it'll be here long after we're a distant nightmare, but the impact we are doing now is changing potential futures that could have been beautiful, while we are still here.

History repeats itself….and Greece is a great example not only of where we’re heading but also what the outcome will be. You can dismiss the obvious if you choose.

Not "based" on Mayans but "predicted" by Mayans.

The great awakening...when we realize that the forbidden fruit of our greed leads to destitution and despair. Maybe they predicted the realization of our own free will in this age? GOD I hope so!

What's happening now is the PTB have long been aware of not only the Mayan prophecies but the Book of the Revelation, Edgar Cayce, Nostradamus and many others.. The effects of these prophecies has been to make us all highly susceptible to suggestion. If we look for trouble we will find it - and the PTB are more than happy to provide it for us.

What are the "problems" facing the world?
- Israel/Palestine
- Economic collapse
- Terrorism
- Authoritarianism run amok
Etc.

Who created these problems?
The PTB.

So when so-called "solutions" come for these issues once again it will be the guiding hand of the big banks and uber rich. Look at your picture there - Capitalism is killing us! is the cry and you know what? - they're right. So what is their solution? - Socialism!! - and once again the PTB win.

In my mind the great issue of the day is mankind, the individual, is at risk of becoming extinct. Every country is veering towards increasingly authoritarian rule whether it's democratic, dictatorial, socialist, communist, whatever.
They are simply systems created to box us in and make the person serve the state.

The Republic offers the best of all forms of government because we are guaranteed rights as individuals. When each person is free to pursue their interests, their talents, using their time and money towards fulfilling their personal destiny we can each fulfill our potential. No other system can offer this and only perverts humanity by forcing us to become parts in a machine.

ETA: Yes, we are creating our own Armageddon by going along with the system and participating in it instead of following our own path and creating our own realities. They play on our most base emotions; fear, greed, lust and manipulate us. Should you fail to play their game they will turn on you and throw you to the wolves.

You had me going right up until your last point!

Capitalism isn’t the BAD GUY…..CRONY capitalism is the cause of our problems in US. Let’s follow the evidence….CRONYISM is a result of GREED so it only makes sense that the GREEDY among us will want to reap the rewards of capitalist success. Look at all the communist countries today! They all follow a form of capitalism! The difference is that they convince the population that GOVERNMENT should be the controller and distributor of the success and prosperity resulting from capitalist practices. This is where we’re heading…more government control and cronyism…and where has that led us?
