ATHENS (Reuters) - The number of people in Greece trying to kill themselves is rising as economic crisis deepens, according to official figures.

Greece in heading towards a sixth year of recession in 2013. The crisis has thrown one in five out of work and gross domestic product has shrunk by a fifth. Many Greeks blame spending cuts and tax hikes demanded by lenders - the European Union and International Monetary Fund - for their plight.
I wonder if the ‘great awakening’ the Mayan’s predicted for civilization in 2012 was the realization that huge societies and centralized governments lead to the demise of independence and self-reliance??? What say you?

Yeah, pretty much.
The correct answer doesn't always have to be the most complex.
I'm not sure how things could shift much farther in the other direction.
How do YOU KNOW that these suicides are self inflicted?
the act or an instance of taking one's own life voluntarily and intentionally especially by a person of years of discretion and of sound mind
I mean, the goverment could be black bagging these people(some of them) because they are able to influence things in some way, Or even so they can get the death taxes......Lot of rich ones takin the high dive???
Any despondent activists who were riding a wave of unprecedented popularity?
How about cops and troops with reservations about the goverments policies?
Any highly placed captains of inductry suddenly calling it in, and fading into the sunset?
I am sure you get my drift here..........and i am sure this kind of gvernance is comming to our own neighbourhoods soon.....

We cant collectively, as humans, realize life is important. When we can get past human greed, collectively, then we can take the next step of our evolution. That is if we don't destroy ourselves as we evolve.......
I never really believed the Mayan’s (who were obviously a gifted, learned people) really accurately
Self destruction is mankinds greatest gift to himself.
There are complete centuries in history when the future of mankind looked a lot more grim than it does today. Of course, that was a long time before the creation of the hysteria network known as the internet.

I think the world is headed towards another World war only this one is more of a civil war of ideologies and morality in the making, not based on any Mayan whatnots
What's happening now is the PTB have long been aware of not only the Mayan prophecies but the Book of the Revelation, Edgar Cayce, Nostradamus and many others.. The effects of these prophecies has been to make us all highly susceptible to suggestion. If we look for trouble we will find it - and the PTB are more than happy to provide it for us.
What are the "problems" facing the world?
- Israel/Palestine
- Economic collapse
- Terrorism
- Authoritarianism run amok
Etc.
Who created these problems?
The PTB.
So when so-called "solutions" come for these issues once again it will be the guiding hand of the big banks and uber rich. Look at your picture there - Capitalism is killing us! is the cry and you know what? - they're right. So what is their solution? - Socialism!! - and once again the PTB win.
