Negative Vibes and Anomalous Photograph Taken in Hummel Park (Omaha, Nebraska)

A friend of mine over on FranklinFiles.net recently posted a photograph she took at Hummel Park, and a short description of what she experienced while there. After doing a quick Google Search on Hummel Park, I found that it has a history of paranormal activity. Here is the photograph and what she wrote:

For those who are athiest or agnostically inclined I will be scoffed at.

I was there and I took this picture.

While I did not feel afraid, the energy at this park was gloomy and very heavy. Very much like the energy upon visiting the MHI at Independance Iowa. Our escort for the day, an Omaha area native would not leave her vehicle at Hummel Park. Maybe just lore that kept her in the vehicle with one finger on OnStar but she was very wary.

are you talking about that purple light at the bottom right corner of this picture?

It's a lens flare.

Yes. I am not familiar with the camera used or the photography conditions - but I can get her responses or have her join in. I am pretty sure she was actually outside when the picture was taken - so I doubt it light reflection off a window or something like that. There is some glare from the sun behind the trees - perhaps it is lens flare?

Observations: The anomaly in the photo to me at first made me think of a reflection like what one gets when one snaps a shot into the sun, except the "burst" of sunlight is missing. In light of that-- no pun intended--it even more resembles what you would see if you snapped a shot, for example, indoors, and light was streaming through a nearby window, and the shot was picking up the light. Of course, this photo was snapped outside with no walls or windows to create that effect!!! The anomaly appearing so window-like piqued my interest and made me think while it could be a discarded bit of cellophane, it could also be a portal to another dimension, perhaps? (This conclusion being drawn based on my personal experiences at the shrine in Conyers, GA, of which the pink tint was also of significance.)

Don't know why your 'friend' is recycling a story from 2009, but It looks very much like a lens flare. You can see the sun peeking out at the top of the photo.

If it isn't a lens flare, it's the first purple hexagonal apparition ever recorded.

It has an oddly square shape. Maybe the flash bounced off the car door mirror?

My 'friend' isn't recycling anything. We aren't very familiar with ghost studies. FranklinFiles.net is completely unrelated - it is a conspiracy forum. It was just an oddity that came up recently - so I thought I should get some input as to whether or not it is an anomaly or lens flare.

And I'm saying that there is no way this 'came up recently' because the photo you posted was put on the Ghost PRO website in 2009. Nothing to do with FranklinFiles, whatever that is. So this is by no means a recent photo.

Even so, it's a lens flare, and it's pretty obvious.

Pentagonal shape actually.

Hexagon has 6 sides.

I believe the shape is determined by the type of shutter on the camera.

Well, the lens flare makes sense to me. As it turns out, she is the one who took that picture. I just didn't realize this was already covered before. It was a fairly random post out of the blue on her own forum - so I thought I might look into it, briefly. I am not altogether for or against this type of thing. Thanks for the input.

Ah yes. The pic I linked is not mine. If it was, I would have labeled it as a pentagon.

Could have something to do with the camera or lens itself, if it was a darker color maybe it would be more believable IMO

I believe you are not listening to what the original post'er's statement. First off it was never discussed on here before. I was discussed on ghostpro in 2009 and never posted anywhere since then.

The person recently posted the photo on franklinfiles.net as a discussion topic and it has never been stated that it is a recent photo. Not sure "who" the thread starter is and if permission was granted by the photo owner to have been placed on this website.

So, time to get off your head and quit complaining/bullying.

i believe in paranormal experiences and don't discount the history of this place or what you felt there. that being said, i am also a photographer and that is lens flare. happens all the time.

I am the photographer of this picture. I was outside when it was taken and it was not a sunny day. I never really thought too much about it and I was not the person who shared it on Ghostpros or whatever. That was done by someone else. I never claimed it was an anomoly nor did corsair. The photo was posted by me this week on www.franklinfiles.net and it was just random so corsair was being matter of fact in stating that. I have several shots taken that day most are just random and this is the only photo that had any sort of "flare"
