Iran Admits to Pulling Strings in Gaza:

According to a source in the Revolutionary Guards intelligence division, Quds Forces in Gaza and other Palestinian territories has been training and supervising Hamas and Islamic Jihad in setting up underground rocket facilities and launching attacks on Israel

Apparently, the escalation of the Gaza conflict was ordered by the highest authority in Iran, the source added, and rockets targeting Tel Aviv and Jerusalem are in fact a warning to Israel that its Iron Dome missile defense system cannot thwart Iran’s ballistic missiles and tens of thousands of rockets and missiles in the hands of Hizbullah ...more

When are People going to stop banging the drum for Hamas and see them for what they are?

Hamas and Hezbullah are terrorist organisations. They do not care about the plight of Palestinians, they are just pawns used strategically for Hamas/Hezbullah's own gain

What does Iran expect to gain from Gaza crisis?

As the Gaza confrontation unfolds, Iran’s masterfully contrived deception in provoking attacks from Hamas provides a welcome distraction from Iran's ongoing economic troubles and its pursuit of nuclear capability.

Although intelligence assessment varies widely, there are lingering doubts of Egypt involvement with Hamas and Hizbullah activities directed by Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) in Iran. (source aboven)

Every war when it comes, or before it comes, is represented not as a war but as an act of self-defense against a homicidal maniac. - George Orwell

A hand of Iran, huh? What a surprise.

Now I guess all the violence in Gaza is fully justified?

P.S. Bibi, welcome to ATS, I was wondering when you decide to drop by.

If you want to beat the war drums concerning other countries, expect the war to end up on your doorstep.... Israel are getting what they want except its not in Iran..

Hamas is all about Palestine. They have been increasingly assisted by Iran, but remain a group with the primary goal of defending Palestinians against what they perceive as an unjust occupation by Israel.

In recruiting Islamist soldiers, framing Israel as evil is one of the more important tactics. Jihadists are taught that Israel is an extension of a Western power that is entirely evil and devoted to oppressing Muslims.

There is a larger goal behind the whole movement than just freeing Palestinians from Israel. They would like to be the top dogs in the world, which would start by unifying all Islamic countries under a single government, a caliphate.

One strategy in doing this is to escalate the current conflict and attempt to unite Muslims against a common enemy. This is the common link between militant Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, Al Qaeda etc.

But saying Palestine is irrelevant is incorrect. That situation is central to their narrative.

There is a lot of caliphate sentiment in the region, and honestly it may be a good strategic move...but the way to do it is through a revolution as peaceful as possible.

Now the dangerous thing here is that there seems to be a similar reasoning for escalating the conflict on the other side. The Islamic countries are really no match for the west, and the war could be seen as a means to fast tracking the global agenda.

A common mistake is to assume that EVERYONE is war mongering. This really isn't the case, imo. More likely, these fringe fanatics exist on both sides but the majority is working to prevent the war. It will come down to whether or not the fringe are in high enough positions to push through the WW3 agenda against the grain of popular sentiment.

Report: Hamas, Hezbollah operatives in Brazil planning attacks abroad 2011

Leading Brazilian news magazine, Veja, reports that at least 20 people affiliated with al Qaida, Hezbollah and Hamas are hiding out in Brazil, raising money and recruiting followers.

There has been a warming of relations between Brazil and the United States since President Dilma Rousseff took office in January. She has sought closer U.S. ties after her predecessor, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, angered the United States with attempts to mediate over Iran's nuclear program.

Veja reported that a Lebanese man named Khaled Hussein Ali, who has lived in Brazil since 1998, is an important member of al Qaida's propaganda operation and has coordinated extremists in 17 countries.

The stated goals are certain to alarm Israel and its ally the United States as they adapt to the new direction Egypt will chart with Morsi at the helm. Iran can talk all the crap they want, as they do often. They need it now more than ever.

Egypt, Turkey and the rest of the arab league may at times seem friendly to them, but as long as Iran's puppet - HumanSlayer Assad remains and slaughtering sunnis, it will be a hard time for other muslims to reconcile with Iran, unless Iran is willing to sacrifice the butcher of syria.

As well as stop meddling in the gulf states with his dogs inciting the shias there to stage protests.

And there's still the score yet to be collected for the seige of Mecca in 1979 funded by Iran, the most heretic and unforgivable act, worse by a supposed 'muslim' leader.

Iran needs Gaza in turmoil, so that the sunnis will be distracted by it and forget about the sectarian strife with his shias. He gladly gift Hamas missiles to rain on Israel, rather than have the arab league rain missiles on Iran. Fool that he is, things are gonna get hot soon for him.

The Egyptian government was still talking the talk yesterday, branding Gazans killed by the bombs as "martyrs". But it wasn't until today that Egypt gave Palestinians an escape from the attacks.

Ignoring clear warning signs, Egypt failed to open the Rafah Crossing until this afternoon.

Iran and Hamas are no longer friends

hamas's new friend is Qatar and the GCC, which are Iranian ideological enemies

when the hamas leader came out to talk a few hours ago he thanked everyone except Iran, when in reality i was iranian rockets that helped them the most and give them the chance to gain support.

hamas is rolling with qatar, so you should expect more international backing to hamas...

EGYPT'S NEW PHARAOH!
'Morsi is Mubarak,' protesters chant as violence flares in Egypt:

Egypt's president, Mohamed Morsi, has granted himself far-reaching powers and immunity from legal oversight as he ordered the retrial of Hosni Mubarak over the killing of protesters during the country's revolution.

Morsi was a Member of Parliament in the People's Assembly of Egypt from 2000 to 2005 and a leading figure in the Muslim Brotherhood. He became Chairman of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) when it was founded by the Muslim Brotherhood in the wake of the 2011 Egyptian revolution. He stood as the FJP's candidate for the May–June 2012 presidential election.en.wikipedia.org...

Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi defended his latest decree granting himself sweeping powers before supporters in Cairo as anti-Morsi demonstrators set fire to Muslim Brotherhood offices in cities across Egypt on Friday.

Clashes between pro-and anti-Morsi demonstrators broke out in the northern port city of Alexandria, as well as Port Said and Ismailia. Offices of the Freedom and Justice Party – the political wing of the Muslim Brotherhood – were attacked in several cities – including the second-largest city of Alexandria

The chameleon is finally showing his true colors.

Since taking office in June, Mohammed Morsi, Egypt's not-so-new president, has been equivocating, trying to balance Egypt's long-standing diplomatic and financial relationship with the West with his true self: a Muslim Brotherhood fundamentalist who is contemptuous of the West, hates Israel and wants to turn Egypt into a fully Islamic state.

well, I can't post the next article because google has just blacked it out.

The White House phone log tells the story of how critical the relationship between President Obama and his Egyptian counterpart became during the Gaza crisis. If the cease fire between Hamas and Israel is a very temporary situation, with both sides claiming that they have made gains, the real winner of this conflict that killed more than 150 Palestinians and five Israelis is Morsi.

news.investors.com...
Obama Won't Fight Morsi 'Coup' In Egypt:

Morsi has become just as tyrannical as his predecessor, Hosni Mubarak — except Mubarak was a staunch U.S. ally who maintained peace with Israelis and kept the Mideast powder keg stable for decades, while Morsi so reviles the Jewish homeland he won't let the word "Israel" pass his lips.

It took 24 hours for Morsi to take advantage of the prestige Obama and his secretary of state handed him. Now he's using America's stamp of approval to oppress his own people

In one stroke, the Obama administration has overturned thirty years of American policy, which rejected negotiations with Hamas and other terrorist organizations. Secretary of State Clinton, to be sure, did not negotiate directly with Hamas, but rather with Egypt’s President Mohammed Morsi, who supported Hamas unequivocally and encouraged its attacks on Israel. Morsi is the leader of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, of which Hamas is the Palestinian chapter. It is astonishing that American officials and the world media have hailed Morsi simply because he first sicced his dog on his neighbor, and then called the dog off.

Courting Cairo? Tehran Invites Egypt’s Morsi To Iranian Nuclear Facility

The two countries saw a diplomatic split following the 1979 Iranian Revolution, when Tehran's secular Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was overthrown in favor of a theocratic Islamic republic. Now that formerly secular Egypt has had a revolution and installed a majority Islamist government of its own, two of the Middle East's most influential states may find reason to mend their decades-long rift.

Morsi must be very special indeed to be invited by Tehran to inspect the nuclear facility!

How utterly convenient that Egypt, at the moment has a majority Islamist Gov!

Why the hell did the Obama administration overturn 30 years of legislation with Morsi?
