Media outlets around the world have reported that state archive documents declassified this week showed that Israel's leadership considered using "drastic means" during the 1973 Yom Kippur War.
On October 9, a day after Egypt repulsed Israel's counterattack on the southern front, prime minister Golda Meir convened a top-level discussion in her office.
The outlook was grim. Troop losses were high, and ammunition and weapons stores were running out. At one point, Meir blurted out that she had a "crazy idea."
On October 8, 1973 just after the start of the Yom Kippur War, Golda Meir and her closest aides decided to put eight nuclear armed F-4s at Tel Nof Airbase on 24 hour alert and as many nuclear missile launchers at Sedot Mikha Airbase operational as possible. Seymour Hersh adds that the initial target list that night "included the Egyptian and Syrian military headquarters near Cairo and Damascus".
The Samson Option is Israel's alleged deterrence strategy of massive retaliation with nuclear weapons as a "last resort" against nations whose military attacks threaten its existence, and possibly against other targets as well.[1] The phrase also has been used more generally to describe Israel's nuclear program.

Yes they would. Any nation that uses a nuclear weapon it simply over, full stop. nuclear weapons are not taken lightly.
Just think that person who pushes that big red button knows as soon as you push it, everything is over.

When Israel last launched prolonged airstrikes into Gaza in 2008-09, Israel had an ally in Egypt, which served to protect them from intervention from other nations.
Egypt acted as a block to stop nations such as Iran or Syria from attacking Israel. Since the Muslim Brotherhood came to power, this alliance has ended and Israel is completely isolated.
Many on ATS have been aware of this agenda for some time, seeing it being reported in the MSM months later just verifies the path we are on. The very reason I joined this forum was to question why the west allowed Mubarak to fall. It didn't take long to realise that allowing the Muslim Brotherhood into Egypt was to serve as isolating Israel.
Israel, courtesy of America and other western nations is the strongest military power in the middle east, certainly the most advanced. With the Zionist influence in many countries, they have even managed to acquire nuclear weapons.
This is the pretext for WW3- Iran and Syria are already opposed to Israel and they already fund terrorist organisations such as Hamas to attack Israel. They haven't been able to openly attack Israel because of Egypt- but Egypt is now on their side under the Muslim Brotherhood.
If the Muslim nations now surrounding Israel decide enough is enough and try and intervene to stop Israel salughtering the Palestinian people (there is talk of Israel sending ground forces into Gaza) then Israel will not think twice of using nuclear weapons to 'defend herself'.
If she is prepared to react to Hamas rockets with airstrikes and drone strikes against an incredibly densely populated area such as Gaza, then if the Syrian, Iranian or Egyptian military got involved in Gaza, then Israel would not think twice about using nukes.
