They're not the same person, I've seen them both post many, many times. It's quite clear they're just of a similar mindset, that's how people become friends.

No....I'm asking you quite simply, how any of your points are relevant to the 1948 legally recognised borders and the illegal occupied territories in the 21st century?

It's a simple enough question you seem to be incapable of answering.

How do you figure? The Israeli population is much much smaller than 1 Billion+ Muslims

Oh? Because those 1 Billion+ Muslims have Israel surrounded on the front line? These 1 Billion are scattered across the planet. Don't make it sound like they have a billion raging Muslims on their doorstep. They don't, extremists are always a minority.

I figure if even half of this Billion (it's more like 1.5 Billion) were screaming, raging crazy people -- Israel would be destroyed. They wouldn't be able to fire enough bullets to stop the flood of hateful Muslims.

Since Israel is still here, and the response to THOUSANDS of attacks by "the good guys" has been met with maybe a dozen incidence of terrorism per year -- it seems to me that the Muslims are much less bloodthirsty than the their relatives in the Abrahamic religions.

>> I'd also like to be on the record as saying that all Fundamentalism, lays the groundwork for extremism and violence, because if you can be made to believe something irrational, you can be made to do the irrational. However, I think that these irrational people are being led by very rational people who want power and money. Religion is merely the tool -- it's not thousands of years of animosity driving any of this. All that ever inspires someone is their OWN LIFETIME. Violence can always be ended. It's the BIG LIE people. Follow the money. It's a short chain of evidence to who benefits from this eternal conflict in Gaza.

How about this? I will do you one better. Why don't the leadership in Gaza publicly refute the rocket attacks and such, and if it is found out that rogue factions are firing these rockets? Find them, arrest them, and try them. That is not going to happen, because we all know who is behind the rockets landing in Israel before this latest assault. I have not seen any real gestures by the government in Gaza to engage with Israel about serious peace talks, and a settlement to end this once and for all. Always the glass half-full approach. A useless truce, and more rockets. In the meantime, more of their own are killed in Israeli retaliation, and they get to taut themselves in front of their unsavory friends around the Middle East who invite this kind of bloodshed between both sides. That is how I see it.

Actually, there was such a person, and he was just assassinated. I will post a few excerpts from a couple articles I will link to below. The first - "Israel’s Shortsighted Assassination" Gershon Baskin Published: November 16, 2012 NYT. This article is quite unbiased.

"Passing messages between the two sides, I was able to learn firsthand that Mr. Jabari wasn’t just interested in a long-term cease-fire; he was also the person responsible for enforcing previous cease-fire understandings brokered by the Egyptian intelligence agency."

"Other key Hamas leaders and members of the Shura Council, its senior decision-making body, supported a new cease-fire effort because they, like Mr. Jabari, understood the futility of successive rocket attacks against Israel that left no real damage on Israel and dozens of casualties in Gaza. Mr. Jabari was not prepared to give up the strategy of “resistance,” meaning fighting Israel, but he saw the need for a new strategy and was prepared to agree to a long-term cease-fire."

"Instead, Mr. Jabari is dead — and with him died the possibility of a long-term cease-fire. Israel may have also compromised the ability of Egyptian intelligence officials to mediate a short-term cease-fire and placed Israel’s peace treaty with Egypt at risk.
This was not inevitable, and cooler heads could have prevailed. Mr. Jabari’s assassination removes one of the more practical actors on the Hamas side."

www.nytimes.com...

And the 2nd, definitely biased, but some good points nonetheless. "Israel killed its subcontractor in Gaza" Aluf Benn | Nov.14, 2012 |

"Ahmed Jabari was a subcontractor, in charge of maintaining Israel's security in Gaza. This title will no doubt sound absurd to anyone who in the past several hours has heard Jabari described as "an arch-terrorist," "the terror chief of staff" or "our Bin Laden."

But that was the reality for the past five and a half years. Israel demanded of Hamas that it observe the truce in the south and enforce it on the multiplicity of armed organizations in the Gaza Strip. The man responsible for carrying out this policy was Ahmed Jabari."

www.haaretz.com...

I can't find the article that had more information on this, but it basically said he controlled the other militant factions more successfully than anyone previously, or is likely to in the future.

This action is just going to create more anger, more feelings of justification for retaliation, and likely a more extreme retaliation than just firing rockets. Which must be what Israel wants in actuality, regardless of what they are saying now, having been quite capable of predicting the reaction it would cause.

So...things are not all that they seem.

Thank you for posting this, many people forget that Mr. Jabari was working to put an end to the rocket attacks, perhaps that is why he was one of Israel's primary targets. Things like this should make people reconsider their outlook on certain aspects of the situation.

His post was well written and very easy to understand. Perhaps instead of an elaboration on his behalf, you should concentrate on your comprehension methods.

Just go back to his post, read it nice and slow, and hopefully you can intake the message he put forth as it was quite simple to grasp.

This is how warfare works. There is a disagreement between two groups, opponents threaten each other, both test and push the others limits, violence escalates, people on both sides die (then their family, friends and fellow counrtymen get pissed & dehumanize the evil enemy who must be stopped) and eventually whoever has the biggest shoe drops it.

BTW - I take no sides in this conflict because I just don't understand the all of history and nuances. War sucks

I think the main reason for this war and the last is that gaza keeps sending rockets into Israel, and they are cowards that hide behind civilians..or in schools or hospitals.. This whole war could be avoided if the damn Muslims and gaza people will leave Israel alone as they're not going anywhere.

They seriously brought this on to them selves. All these Muslim countries threaten and chant death threats to Israel, I actually travelled to Israel in the spring and it was beautiful and I Enjoyed it. I dont blame the Gov. attacking Gaza, I support it if it will protect Israeli people from terrorism and future attacks.

Just leave Israel the F alone and they wont bother anyone..Simple as that, But I guess Muslims are to damn stupid to realize it, no offence, some are smart but clearly not these ones all entrapped and brain washed in the Middle east..I swear once these guys come to Canada or USA there eyes open and realize it's not as bad as they've been told. they're so isulated they really need to open there eyes and see the rest of the world.

I find it ironic that you use the word 'entrapped' when I consider the plight of the Palestinians in Gaza. Did you swallow all of the zionist propaganda you were spoon fed without chewing?

You do realise that, with a population of 1.7 million people on an area that spans 15x3 miles, Gaza is the most densely populated area on the planet don't you? You do know about the Israeli blockade on Gaza don't you? You do know that Israel has been eroding the Palestinian territories for decades now - and building Jewish only communities on stolen land don't you?

I'm glad you had a nice wee holiday out there....and I'm glad you thought it was a lovely place.. The Palestinians loved their homes too before they were forcibly removed.

The Promise will fill you on the history of Israel since it's 1948 foundation. I'd recommend you take the time to watch.

Or perhaps the people of a sovereign country are sick of the rocket attacks and constant provocation coming from Palestine and are cheering their military's victory?

Israel should just end things and launch a full scale attack against the Palestinians. After all, its been nothing but years of suicide bombs, rocket attacks and terror coming from there. Are we supposed to feel sorry for the ones constantly terrorizing civilians just because they suffer accidental civilian deaths in return? I don't think so. The world would be a happier place without Palestine, Iran, Pakistan and North Korea.

You seem to forget the constant violations of international law by the Israelis that are committed on a regular basis while constantly breaking truces and cease fires

Perhaps the Gazans are sick and tired of having their children shot in the skull by an attack helicopter while playing soccer, or perhaps they are sick and tired of being segregated from the outside world while being denied the necessities of life.

Here is a picture that SOLIDSNAKE101 posted a few pages back which explains the situation very well for those who are unable to grasp the complexity of the situation...it's nice and simple.

You try and make it sound one sided and limit your comprehension of the facts related to the full situation which therefore causes you to portray it in the incorrect context.

A ground war would do nothing but cause more civilian deaths, but that seems fine by you. These are humans we are talking about on both sides.

You say the world would be better without certain countries...let's just say you forgot a few on your list...the world would also be better off without people such as yourself cheering for war due to lies the MSM has spoon fed you. I say this because everything you said sounds just like the crap I hear on CNN and or any other media outlet which serves no purpose other than to manipulate the weak minded populace who are unable to think for themselves.

The land was under British Control when Israel was granted sovereignty by the UN. Prior to British Control, it was under the control of the Ottoman Empire. It was NEVER an independent Palestinian State.

If the Arabs in Palestine had accepted the initial UN Partition Plan in 1947, which was accepted by the Jews, there would have been an independent state of Palestine alongside of Israel.

Instead, the Arabs decided to reject the UN Partition Plan, advise over 700,000 Palestinians to vacate the area in advance of a plan to commit genocide of the Jewish population in the region, and declare war on the newly formed state of Israel. When the Arabs declared war on Israel, Israel was within the borders recommended by the UN Partition Plan, which was approximately half of the territory.

The ONLY reason why Israel has expanded since then is because land has been captured in the aftermath of retaliatory military conquests of their enemies, and justifiably so.
