Pennsylvania baby.

Had to lol at this, as I am from Pennsylvania. And I could not disagree more.

My money says whatever state has the intelligence as a whole to stop warring with other states and attack their centralized and completely corrupt local governments and in doing so, create a state that is not overseen by corrupt politicians - who are in the pockets of their corporate overlords.

Actually, I do know that, as I am one of those registered hunters. I could not see the state of Pa coming out as the "overall winner" in a state to state war. Just being honest.

California has the most military bases.

California looks like it has the most veterans.

California, hands-down produces the most food.

California has a very defensible mountainous region on the Eastern borders. (Yosemite & Sierra Nevadas)

But most importantly, California has Tupac.

No one would win because millions of people who classed themselves as american would loose their lives - I guess if your don't learn from the first civil war you might as well have a 2nd to let it sink in...

P.S In war, only the rich win

Kentucky would sit in our own state..If this happen
In rural Kentucky which is 90% of Kentucky every single house owns at least one gun for hunting and protection.

Kentukians would set up shop in the woods and hollers and pick everyone off that tried to get in.

Just my thoughts lol
I would assume Tennessee would be same way.

The red states would win because they are pro gun.

The Blue states would have to rely on corrupt cops and crimnals for protection because they are the only ones who have them. Doesn't that make you feel all warm and fuzzy.

Great thread idea! I wouldn't disagree too much with your 3 picks but i would maybe throw Alaska into the mix.......purely because it would be fairly difficult to "take out" Alaska (remoteness, climate, terrain, etc). Plus, isn't there a fair bit of high tech kit already there that they could "appropriate"?

Failing to plan is planning to fail.

Sure, we take pleasure in hypotheticals, because having even a little bit of forethought and foreknowledge puts us light years ahead of the competition! It is comforting to know one has at least given it a glancing consideration.

Colorado would do well. we have military bases, the plains in the east to grow good, precious metals in the mountains, and strategic high ground.

I agree on Colorado.

The coast would be a deterrant in a nuclear state exchange. Colorado could simply nuke the port cities of California and they would be on their knees.

Colorado has NORAD, Cheyenne Mountain and several thousand nukes. Not to mention the railroad and aerial infrastructure to move goods, 30,000 UAVs in Boulder, and a civilian population that has its roots in the wild west.

Mineral/Metals in the mountains, food on the plains, Air Force Academy trained pilots. I really can't see any state being able to defeat Colorado on their own and I see no state Colorado couldn't subdue on their own.

#1 reason Colorado wins = Star Wars Program Command and Control.

Fun thread.

God Bless,

Light years ahead of the competition - by competition you mean other states. Why do you want to compete against your brothers? What about another civil war appeals so much to you? Going to get the chance to use all your cool guns?

California could easily be it's own country and hold it's own for several reasons.

California controls all the shipping that comes from asia. Nobody in the US is going to be getting anything from china if california says no. Can't fly over us can't ship past us. GOod luck convincing anybody to ship that stuff around the cape of south america. ANd we can easily work a extortion deal out with panama so nobody goes through there without paying panama and california a huge sum.

We have several airbases that can practically assure air superiority if anybody try's anything. We have so much ordinance it's not funny. We could literally bomb the rest of our neighbors into submission and take Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, and washington states. We have one of the worlds largest air bases. Several missile and satellite command and control basses. The largest marine instillation in the world and some of the largest naval bases in the world. Hawaii would also be our puppet too once we got the war machine rolling.

Our borders between the rest of the country and the california are pretty hostile for an invading army. Large harsh deserts where you are sitting ducks in the south and hard to traverse mountains in the north (the tallest in the continental united states actually. So good luck with that.

We can starve the rest of the nation while at the same time being self sufficient food wise. California picks up the slack monetarily off most of the country. We are a power house financially. Good luck with all your govt assistance checks when California hoards all of it's money.

We have a massive population. WOn't be easy to control all of us.

Think Californians aren't armed? Thats just ignorant. Plus think of all the gangs and crime we have and all of the illegal and very lethal weapons inundating our state at any moment. THink you have problems now with mexican drug warfare in your backyards over in the texas new mexico region. Wait until we start using them as mercs to do insurgent style assaults on your cities and shipping routes.

Good luck contending with the ghettos of Souther california. Pretty sure a texan won't last long in watts or rampart when immune to pain crack heads armed with fully automatic tec 9s, m16's and mac 10's start strafing you guys. It will be like assaulting some vietcong city where death lurks behind every shadow and nobody is your friend.

Oil? We have oil we just don't harvest most of it since we can get it elsewhere.

Exclusive pacts with CHina. Well since their business all need california to get to the rest of the americas markets we will be able to screw the rest of america in unfair trade deals that they will have no choice but to accept.

California may be considered a joke to half the nation but thats just ignorance and a bit of jealousy. Learn the facts and you'll find California is nothing to mess with.

This whole thread is a hypothetical. IF it comes down to this, then I would rather my friends and neighbors be on the winning side as opposed to the losing side. The premise of the thread is in the title, "If every state of the USA declared war against each other..." In that scenario, the folks that have given it some forethought have an advantage over those caught off guard, and in a war every advantage is worth something!

In the hypothetical way the thread is posed I'd note a couple things about California I had considered there.

First, California is full of Military facilities, although most are in various levels of downsizing, true. They've run most of that nasty, dirty manufacturing stuff somewhere else in a major victory as seen by some folks out there though. (can ya tell I used to live there? lol..) That means the ammo and other things needed for the military to do anything productive is as far as a border to smuggle across. Err... That would get suddenly inconvenient.

Also, I thought about those mountains...and having actually been across most ways a vehicle as big as a truck can cross them (Shh.. Don't tell DOT about Death Valley or Susanville and I won't either.. I really DID stop at Lake Tahoe though...
) Those are double edged. What keeps others OUT assumes anyone even wants IN. I'd say they are far more effective as bottlenecks to confine and contain than to defend. Just my passing thoughts of friendly state rivalry.

It would be a southern state. Most of us not only grow up fighting, we know how to plow, skin, fish, hunt, track and trap. We can rope and ride as well as anybody in the nation, have some of the most remote places in the country. Tennessee holds the advantage due to the y12 facility.

Texas? Pffft, if it wasn't for tennessee there wouldn't be a texas.
