Israel on Wednesday carried out a surgical strike of the site in question – a Fajr-5 missile launch pad established in the heavily populated Zeitoun district of Gaza to fire long range rockets into the Jewish state.

The photograph of the launch site, posted above, shows a children’s playground and a mosque located about a half a block away as well as two civilian factories and a gas station also within a half a block radius.

That is just unbelievable and obscene. The only thing worse they could have done is actually site the pad inside a Mosque or School directly. I mean rockets? pfft.. The Israelis probably don't waste the ammunition counter-battery firing on them. Why bother?? As I understand it, many of them are pickup truck launched and drive off. Thousands of them.. ugh..

These little beasts though!? Israel will do almost anything they have to in order to get them and destroy them. With good reason too... If they ever manage to guide those missiles in more than a 'fire it that way! doh!" then Israel could start taking VERY expensive or ....exceptionally dangerous (depending on the target) losses by well aimed hits. I won't even speculate because it's not fodder for debate IMO. It's too serious for lives that could be lost.

To site a Fajr-5 launch position anywhere within blast damage range of ..say..a 1000lb bomb..is criminal in a literal sense, IMO. fighting is one thing intelligent people can debate I suppose....but this? This is using civilians as shields ...but worse. They know Israel will only hesitate but NOT stop. So it's signing the death warrants of those civilians to do this, too.

What atrocities? Tell me how many Gaza missiles have levelled Israeli TV stations, killed journalists, killed children and left elderly homeless? Tell me why Zionists can stroll in, massacre Palestinians 60 years ago and when the palestinians fire a few rockets, they are the worst humans on the planet. This goes back past 1993. I understand both sides have had their fair share of bloodshed but the last 20 years is like starting a novel from chapter 13. The initial slaughter came from the Invaders and I'm sure you will not find a reliable source who will verify that piece of information.

Well, we can go back 2,000 years and find these sides roughly still there fighting each other although the names, sides and specifics change a bit. Anything to hate on Israel for some people tho. Well... Looks like it'll be a moot point. Israel is appearing to be gearing for a ground war in full invasion mode. Firing missiles at Tel Aviv itself was apparently about 10 steps too far. Interesting how one tactical decision can be a total game changer.

We'll see how this plays out now. Hamas couldn't fight a true war here in their best fantasy. Not against a world class military like the IDF. Israel hasn't been fighting this like a true war.......until now. 75,000 troops called up from an original 30,000 isn't a raid and mop-up force like the last time they went into Gaza. This looks like a full invasion force to literally retake the place until they are satisfied there aren't anymore weapons capable of threatening the whole population center of Israel.

There are over a million Muslim ISRAELI Citizens as well. Lets not forget this is never as black and white as folks like to suggest it is.

Sorry, but after seeing the extent of Israeli Propaganda and mind changing spin ops it's hard to take threads like this seriously. It is a nice story don't get me wrong but Israel has a powerhouse propaganda machine so getting a balanced view of the situation from the western media is bloody impossible

I don't hate Israel.. The people of Israel that is. As for the Israeli government, I can't find one word that suggests they are looking for peace and I'm not just talking about Gaza either. But with that, I really don't like my government either so its not just a Zionist thing. Yes firing rockets into Tel Aviv is a game changer but those rockets are nothing compared to the weapons being used to retaliate.

Hamas couldn't fight a true war even though they think they can.. I agree with you. So why blow the place to oblivion? The IDF aren't just killing suspected members of Hamas, they are killing Journos and children along with other who most likely have nothing to do with firing rockets into Israel.

If those Palestinian kids are in Israel then they have the obligation to help them, in the same way the Palestinians have the obligation to help anyone (regardless of their origin) in the areas they control.

Keep in mind the IDF is a mandatory service...how many of you would do your service yet make an effort to deal with your conscience while doing so? These are just kids themselves in the IDF...some go in playing it like a video game, no remorse, no mindset as to what they HAVE to do...others may be bit more compassionate, and empathetic to the plight of another human being....could YOU in good conscience look a 5 year old in the eye as they are blown to pieces? Some can....while others just CAN'T....it is a sad situation either side you're on...children doing the dirty work of their govnts.....

You know what leaves me speechless on statements like this? Hamas is taken as credible with no ulterior motives or reasons to lie and deceive by some while Israel is seen as totally spinning or outright lying about everything they do.

How does that work exactly? This group that kills it's OWN people (do a search on how opposition members end up in Gaza...it's not pretty what they do to those who would run against them) is the pillar of honesty no matter how badly they're shown to be lying through their teeth........and spout peace while their own charter calls for the total destruction of the Israeli state? What peace is this and what basis of credibility are they working from? On the other hand, Israel is a nation with treaties and agreements for everything from science to disaster relief to military with nations all over the world. They ARE NOT known to be a nation that ends it's agreements casually or makes a habit of lying to those in the world around them. Those multitude of treaties and agreements wouldn't exist otherwise.
