why do ufo's have lights?

I was wondering if UFO's are so advanced why do they need lights?

Summer of 1979 I was taking my girlfriend home after having SEX she lived in Lawrence MA. and I was going south on RT.93 leaving Salem NH.

Just got through raining off and on all day with a heavy cloud cover.
It�s about 11:45 pm.
I was driving a 74 Cuda with a 440..no drugs or alcohol taken that night and we were fully awake and sober.

Not many cars on the highway and we saw what appeared to be what I thought was a plane attempting to land in the Northbound lane near the Raytheon building.

I tapped out S.O.S. on my headlights to attempt to warn the pilot he was not on course for Lawrence Airport.

As I did this 3 white lights started blinking on and off randomly as if the vehicle and occupants were excited that I noticed them or it may have been the SOS.

I sped up to attempt to get closer and the 3 white lights just like car headlights started going off and on in sequence from left to right as if the lights were all around this craft.

The craft was not visible but appeared to be silhouetted as a pie plate hanging in the sky not very far above the ground.

I started hitting the headlights with the SOS faster and faster and the UFO's lights went faster around and around until it became one solid line of light spinning real fast and getting brighter.

The entire ground and sky became lit up in a second as if when you turn a light on in your house and the bulb burns out or a flash on a camera.

You could see everything then... it just went dead....I hit the brakes with the hair on my back standing straight up and kept yelling were did it go ?

My Girlfriend was trying to crawl under the dashboard and kept repeating I do not know lets get out of here.

I went to a party later that week and was bragging about this when an acquaintance came up and said� I saw the same thing at the same time exactly how you explained it �...
he was coming up the Highway on the southbound

Dunno, aliens are sure damn weird though- killing cows (now come on!?) and flashing lights at people. But now, seriously i have seen something like this once but in England, i was in the car going on holiday with my family and something was in a field to the left. It flashed slowly then really fast then just stopped and i could just about make it out shooting up into the sky. Weird

I dont think they are lights at all. I think the lights and glow we see from UFOs is either a form of Plasma or a by-product of the crafts propulsion system.

If its not either of those two things then they want to be seen ,because lighting up your craft at night time is just asking to be noticed.

Lights come in handy from time to time.. Unless they have better eyes than we do I would think they need atleast a Maglite.

Just a quick question.......does anyone know if the Luna Module on the Apollo missions had lights??

Actually, the evidence points to them having an artificial membrane, that works similar to night vision, but that's neither here nor there

Yes, it did.

So we felt it important enough to put lights on the 'UFO' we sent to the Moon. Maybe an alien race would think the same way? Imagine the embarasment of flying 100's of light years, only to clip a tree in the last 30 feet of your landing! You know.........just like the one at Rendlesham Forest.


In fact, since that incident Galactic Command has fitted all its fleet with landing lights!

Many believe that early radar interfered with the electromagnetic wave propogation method of propulsion, thought to be utilized by the alien craft...resulting in the early crashes. In any event, it seems they eventually developed a method of dealing with it....

I think that EBEs need NAV lights and such just as our craft requires them. Or it's an effect of their propulsion.

Which makes no sense, since radio waves are flying around everywhere naturally.
