The High Tech Polymer that can stop a Speeding Bullet in its tracks

Always amazes me how quickly we discover new things that can help us...

Scientists at Rice University in Texas have discovered a new super polymer material that is able to stop bullets in their tracks, and seal the hole behind them.

Polyurethanum, a complex multiblock co-polymer, is a synthetic compound created in the lab.
It could be used for new bulletproof vests, aircraft skin - infact any application where danger of high-speed impacts is something to plan for......
