Funny you should mention that about slice bread. I actually had one of them tell me that exact same thing about Obama.

It's really simple. He is a very good shepherd! He was well picked with his only real experience is community organizing which is like rounding up like minded sheep. Only as President he has gotten the chance to show the world his shepherding skills and he has all the sheep in line.

This may sound a bit odd, but have you possibly considered something supernatural? Sounds like a bad TV show plot, but it could very well be possible.

I said before in another post that I am a religious man and the answer may be staring me in the face,
All things are possible, just look at all of the counties and districts Obama got 99 to 100% of the vote in. They say that is impossible as well

One possibility to consider is that people just need someone to believe in.

We get divided by labels like liberal, conservitive, republican, democrat, etc. But I think most intellegent people just want whats best for our country. Unless we're in government ourselves, there isn't a lot we can do except try to elect the people who will do what is right and best for everyone. If we took the time to keep informed of the issues, and vote for somebody, it can be a hard pill to swallow to realize we may have made a bad choice.

I think I voted mostly republican up to 2000. I voted for Bush the first time. Between the election and before 9/11, I came to realize that the CIA was bringing drugs into the US. That was my first shock. I began to get suspicious that no one was held accountable, why wasn't Bush doing anything about that? Why didn't Clinton? By the time the Patriot Act was signed, I was 100% against Bush. So I look at other candidates with a more suspicious eye. McCain? Kerry? No thanks. I was cautiously optimistic about Obama, but when he ditched his news entourage to meet with the Bilderbergers before the election, I knew he was not going to be my guy.

Now, I like Ron Paul's position on the issues that are important to me. He has some positions that I don't agree with. If he had been elected president, and did half the things he promised, I could see myself forgiving him for the half he didn't do. And if people criticized him for it, I may jump to his defense, even though I might be wrong in doing so. It would just be an emotional response, because I would want so deeply to believe that my guy is doing what's best for America. There's nothing wrong with wanting what's best for your country.

I give Obama supporters grief sometimes, but I can honestly say that I am jealous of them, too. They still have hope that this country will get better. I'd like to feel that hope again some day.

Actually, yes I do agree with that but I also believe that the same can be said for the other side with this election as well. Maybe it's because of the locations that we reside in but Republicans around here have gone damn near psychotic lately while the Democrats, which are fairly outnumbered, don't really seem to care much about Obama -they just didn't want a Republican, especially Romney, to win. I was actually able to convince some of my liberal friends to vote third party in this election but none of my right-leaning friends would have any of that "nonsense." It's all crazy if you ask me.

I only know of one Democrat who supports everything from the administration and just pretends like the bad never happened. I knew a few Republicans who were that way with Georgie and still claim that he wasn't "as bad as everyone keeps sayin, certainly nowhere near as bad as Obama." But I do live in the bible-belt... 99% of the liberal or left -leaning people that I know all wish that they had a better option than Obama because he has disappointed them, that's why I was able to convince some to vote for a third party candidate.

Politics buddy, politics. It's that simple. Just look at this nation and how divided we are because of the last election. I don't know if it's because of 2012 or what but they're all actin' like it's the end of the world or sumthin. Either way, it's not like we were going to get a president who cared about any of us or would be willing to do anything if it wasn't for the sole purpose of benefiting the top 0.5% of this country, so I really can't understand why everyone wants to keep arguing about it. But when I say things like that people think I'm targeting them with my "Romney bashing" yet it's made rather clear that I am bashing both men. In my opinion which is supported by tons of evidence ( a lot that can be found on this site) they are both equally corrupt and paid by the same people.

You may be on to something.
Though many of the republicans around here *also the bible belt* would have liked Ron on the ticket instead of Romney. Perhaps that is that answer I am looking for. Maybe I am looking to hard at the obamabots and not enough at the rest of the country.
Perhaps the reason they look so infatuated with him is because the rest of us did not have anything to look forward to.
I think if we combine your post and Vic's it is as close to an answer as I have come yet.
I still can't help but feel there is something else though.

It may appear that way. I can't explain it but I can explain it from my point of view. I like Obama because I believe he will protect us from the bad, bad, bad, policies of the republicans that benefited a very small part of the populace for 30years. My husband and I worked physical labor for over 35 years and everything that we worked for was wiped out from ONE illness. Pres Obama understands that and wants to fix it. The republicans just want our type to die.

Well that seals the deal then!

I don't like the slow slide verses swan dive off the cliff choice we have..but if that truely is the only realistic option, I will choose the slow slide and hope that things stop and reverse with time.

The guy has a way about him. He can hide the bad behind an oddly extreme charismatic smile. He could say the sky is orange, flash that smile, and people would believe him.

He has a confidence that borders arrogance. Wait, no, it's arrogance disguised as confidence. Arrogance that he can lie to the faces of the American people and get away with it. But why? Is it that he panders to the selfish side of Americans? Or is it because of the last term with a republican president that everyone is willing to follow this man simply because he is not republican even though he is doing much the same as the last guy?

I got it. Michelle Obama is a witch. Casting a spell on the American people to blindly follow her puppet. Michelle is the dark lord responsible for the destruction of this country, and possibly, the world.

That would explain, then, why they were so quick to slag Obama after his lackluster first debate. Even the Right's favourite punching bag, Bill Maher, (Rachel Maddow aside, as she is Left AND Lesbian) continually hammered him for dropping the ball in his first term. In spite of donating a million to the campaign.

Suck it up...a majority of Americans stated quite clearly that Romney didn't speak for them. Consider that a reflection of your core values, not just theirs. Develop a platform that is inclusive for more Americans and you might dodge a three-peat in 2016.
