The morning after the election, Eric Dondero, a former Ron Paul aide, and recently proprietor of LibertarianRepublican.net posted an incredible rant to his blog. Over 1000 comments followed.

Time to tell any Democrats you know to [SNIP] and die
by Eric Dondero

This may be my last post here at Libertarian Republican for quite some time, possibly forever. ...

...I've soured on electoral politics given what happened last night. I believe now the best course of action is outright revolt. What do I mean by that? Well, to each his own...

However, for me, I'm choosing another rather unique path; a personal boycott, if you will. Starting early this morning, I am going to un-friend every single individual on Facebook who voted for Obama, or I even suspect may have Democrat leanings. I will do the same in person. All family and friends, even close family and friends, who I know to be Democrats are hereby dead to me. I vow never to speak to them again for the rest of my life, or have any communications with them. They are in short, the enemies of liberty. They deserve nothing less than hatred and utter contempt. I strongly urge all other libertarians to do the same. Are you married to someone who voted for Obama, have a girlfriend who voted 'O'. Divorce them. Break up with them without haste. Vow not to attend family functions, Thanksgiving dinner or Christmas for example, if there will be any family members in attendance who are Democrats. Do you work for someone who voted for Obama? Quit your job. Co-workers who voted for Obama. Simply don't talk to them in the workplace, unless your boss instructs you too for work-related only purposes. Have clients who voted Democrat? Call them up this morning and tell them to take their business elsewhere. Have a neighbor who votes for Obama? You could take a crap on their lawn...

...If I meet a Democrat in my life from here on out, I will shun them immediately. I will spit on the ground in front of them, .... Then I'll tell them in no un-certain terms: "I do not associate with Democrats. You all are communist pigs, and I have nothing but utter disgust for you. Sir/Madam, you are scum of the earth."

For now, off to my first assignment: Telling all my friends and family who voted for Obama to "[SNIP], don't ever speak to me again you slimeball [SNIP]." Wish me luck! Here's my Facebook Page. Watch me as I get started on my new lifetime crusade.

It seems to me that this is the worst side of human nature coming out. I can understand anybody being sore about an election that their side lost. Inevitably, there will be elections that 'my side' loses. But I hope to god I never become like Dondero and decide to deliberately limit my relationships to those who agree with me on every point of contention. That would be like joining a cult and isolating yourself from all unbelievers. Closing your mind to such an extent is unhealthy.

In the meantime, I hope you all get a good laugh out of this, and maybe some perspective.

I can't believe there's not an ATS thread on this yet. I did use the search function

I wonder how he took it when his little league team lost a game?

He is very unamerican and I would beat him to the punch and unfriend him first..lol

That is if I were on Facebook at all.

Thumbs down to this Guy

Does he have a high school diploma? Sounds like a mentally retarded fat kid trying to chase down an imaginary cake to me... I truly hope for his family and "friends" sake that he does unfriend them all. This is utterly ridiculous, that thing ( it damn sure aint a person) needs to be kicked out of America for trying to promote hate!

Edit addition:

Go to the link and you'll see that he also mislabels EVERYONE who has to use food stamps as worthless scumbags and says that he likes to embarrass them in public. With an attitude like his, the only thing that I can say is that for his sake it's a good thing I don't know him personally or I would be in jail right now and he would be in the ER. That thing is just sickening and it's because of scum like him that this country is far too preoccupied with fighting each other to bother trying to ensure that everyone who is willing to work has an equal opportunity to a career that would offer a life without constant suffering.

I'll be sure to go do those two things then as I am a staunch liberal and democrat.
Before I do so though, I think I'll go kiss another woman and spark up a J.

Dondero also recently advocated 'republicans-only Halloween'

I'm all set for Halloween eve. I set up a table outside of my door at my south Texas home, with a variety of wrapped candy from the local Wal-mart. But I put a sign up next to the table that reads: Trick or Treaters - Welcome Republican Families! No Democrats

Link

One of the commenters in the comment thread linked in the OP proposes that this kind of thing can be brought on by physical diseases. His example was prostate cancer, which can sometimes stimulate overproduction of testosterone, leading to aggressive behavior in inappropriate situations.

I hope that this is not the case for Mr. Dondero. Prostate cancer recently took my uncle. It would have been a thousand times worse if it had turned him into an asshole beforehand.

I thought that shunning your own family and friends because they don't share your beliefs is what mind-controlled cults do?

There are a lot of people in this country going nuts. Politics, sports, competitions of any kind. People are thinking they need to take a side, that is ridiculous. They want to be part of a team and they want their team to win. Sorry people, as soon as the elections are over it doesn't really matter if you backed a candidate, they will never call you to the whitehouse for dinner. You need to check reality, it isn't the end of the world if the candidate you chose looses. It is all a broadway show.

I'm sure there are many here on ATS that would love it if all conservatives curled up and died.

Personally, I'm glad to see the democrats in power. Now the whole planet can see how screwed up their thinking is.

We can enjoy more classwarfare
More divisiveness
More anger from the left
More blame
Higher taxes
More unemployemnt
Highe inflation
More people on foodstamps

(but we'll just blame it all on the president of the past 4 years)

Yeah... He's a real true Republican! Gotta admit he has the whole hypocrite part down pretty good with that whole "leave your wife" bit. Perhaps I am wrong, but aren't the majority of Republicans with an attitude similar to that of his own usually Christian? Every Republican I know is Christian and none of them are as crazy as him so... But anyway, doesn't the bible consider divorce wrong? What an idiot...

People like that who advocate no compromise are destroying the government. We have a system designed to find the middle ground, the death of compromise between the parties will be the death of our republic.

How can he be a Libertarian and write nonsense like this? ``Republican-Libertarians`` really piss me off, they have no clue what libertarianism is about.

Mr. Dondero actually has been quite active in libertarian politics for some time, although it seems like he is more of a neocon than libertarian, since he is in favor of a very interventionist and pro-israel foreign policy. He claims in the comment threads to have at least a bachelor's degree...

Dondero has been described as "the Matt Drudge of Libertarian politics." He is the founder of the Republican Liberty Caucus, co-Founder of "Libertarians for Bush" in 2004 and "Draft Sarah Palin for VP" in 2008. Dondero is a former Libertarian Party National Committeeman, served as travel aide to Ron Paul during his 1987-88 campaign for President, organizer of Draft Ron Paul for President in 1991-92, congressional campaign coordination in 1995 and was Senior Aide to Paul from 1997-2003. He currently works as a petition consultant.[1][2]

He was fired by Ron Paul, apparently.

Yes, that's particularly offensive to me since my family was on foodstamps for about a year or so in the early 80's recession when I was a small child. It was very humiliating for my mother as it was, without geniuses like Mr. Dondero on the patrol. By the way, we all have gone on to become productive members of society and upstanding citizens.

Another libertarian who has no connection to reality.

I wonder if he would call the Republicans the enemy if they had won and started taking away peoples' freedoms? (e.g. forced prayer, outlawing gay marriage, abortion, etc)

let's keep it on-topic, beezer, and not descend into the usual dem/rep bash fest that seems to rule ATS.

Thanks.

Ever since the election, we've seen the left gloat over a 2% win, and use that as a mandate to push their dictates.

They can crow all they want, but I willnot "go gentle into that dark night".

I've never seen a worse bunch of "sore winners" in all my life!

Everyone seems to have forgotten about the death threats and threats of riots if the GOP would've won.

So one guy posts a rant.

I can imagine Obama's "Butthurt Czar" trying to make that illegal.

This guys is a fraud he was never a Ron Paul Aid. He tried to worm his way into the 2008 campaign and when he was not welcomed he tried to sabotage the campaign by saying he was an aid and giving out fake damaging inside information.

He is no libertarian either. His MO is to pretend he is a pro liberty guy and then pull outrageous crap like this to try and garner hatred toward the liberty movement. This guy is a POS and nothing out of his mouth is worth reading or listening to!
