Green,Yellow, Orange, Blue and Red; have different meanings and energy associated to each. There are many variations of each color. The darker hue of each color is stronger...the lighter color is weaker. Some colors combine to create other colors and they share both qualities of each color they create. I will be focusing on the main colors I mentioned.

Green:
The color is associated with health; the energy is used to promote healthy choices.

Yellow:
The color is associated with spiritual; the energy is used to connect to your higher power.

Orange:
The color is associated with balance; the energy is used to focus on having balance in your life.

Blue:
The color is associated with thinking; the energy is for clarity of thought in your decision making.

Red:
The color is associated with emotions; the energy is used to have passion in your pursuit of goals.

I am sure there are other ways to view each color, to associate them with different meanings and attach other energies to them.

Before my son was born, when we were getting his nursery ready, I decided to paint everything pure white. This gave me a blank canvas to work with. I took 5 cans of paint (green, yellow, orange, blue and red) and 5 brushes; I started to "splatter" the entire room (ceiling, walls and window enclosures) with each color. When I was done it was beautiful. I used each color to paint the molding, doors, window ledges, cabinets and closets. All of this was done to promote each color and the energy associated with them.

I wanted my son to have these colors in his brain every day and night; I wanted him to have good health, be spiritual, balanced, clarity of thought and passion.

He is 13 now and reaching a point in his life where these colors play a very important role in his becoming an adult. He has been a very health boy (his favorite color is green). He is beginning to understand his spiritual side. He has been remarkably balanced to this point. He has excellent grades in school. He has passion for art.

I don't know how much what I did to his room matters; it sure had the results I was looking for.

Just wanted to share!

Take care and much love to all.

P.S. I wish I had a picture to share, but I am in Brazil now, 4500 miles away from where the pictures are. Perhaps someday I will be able to.

Of course they do most hospitals use light blue for its calming effect, and most expensive restaurants use dark red because its makes you loose track of time and spend more money.

Very nice! I do Reiki (energy healing). I work with these colors when working on different energy centers, or chakras. When looking at a persons aura you can see these colors (and others) around an individual. You can tell a lot about a person by the color that is seen in their aura. It's quite fascinating

Interesting! My mother painted my bedroom Omaha Orange (orange on steroids) when I was young. I was green during my young adulthood up until I got divorced after 27 years. I then went to blue until my second divorce after 8 years. I am now red but appreciate all colors of the rainbow.

Most casinos use red in the decor as well.....for the same exact reason.

Red is used in restaurants to make you aggressive (eat more) , casinos use red to make you aggressive (to lose more).

This ties in really well with the thread I wrote recently discussing the potential healing uses of colored fruits and vegetables.

I remember when I was very young, around 7 or 8 years old, applying a color to different emotions. I didn't know anything about all this then, it just came to me. I was fascinated when I came across scientific information that actually supported this!

Did you know that some prisons paint the walls pink because of the calming effect it has on the inmates?
Interesting!

S&F on your thread, OP.

I actually did know this; however if you refer to my thread as an addendum, orange governs sexual reproductive gland. What color jumpsuits do they make inmates wear? What is one of the biggest issues with jail? Homosexual rape by the allied inmates.

Red light increases blood pressure and blue light decreases it.

I think the lack of women also plays a big part.

That is the underlying problem; I think the orange is more of an unknown catalyst. Sort of like the lack of women causes an increase in hormones, which boosted by the daily orange jumpsuits, set them all out of whack.

Apology not necessary. Thanks. Orange jumpsuits in prison have more to do with making it difficult to escape without being noticed. It is visual/bright for that reason. As to the energy associated with it, balance; keeps them from being aggressive with each other. I would rather see blue to give them more clarity of thought. Glad they are not red.

Orange Chakra:

Orange chakra color meanings: The second, sacral chakra. We've got a nice glow on here. From the "pow!" of our red roots we move into a more sophisticated stage of creativity. This is our moment to sculpt our rawness, and refine ourselves into illumed orbs of creative beauties. In silky waves of orange we become aware of our physical-ness and begin to make prime connections about the magnificence of our bodies. Orange speaks to us about exploration - new additives are mixed with raw matter, and this is where we conjugate. Here we embrace polarities, consume them, and learn the choreography in the dance of unity.

2. Navel (or Sacral) Chakra. This chakra is represented by the color orange and is located just below the navel. It has six petals, each of which represent a level of thought that stimulates the mind and is associated with the water element. The animal that represents this chakra is a mythical half-alligator, half fish animal called makara. This chakra has two openings, facing front and back and is related to the reproductive system. In more psychological terms, it is connected to our sexuality, emotions and all levels of relationships with others (friendship, intimate relations, etc.)

Orange: HAPPINESS, CONFIDENCE, RESOURCEFULNESS; personality traits: enthusiastic, happy, sociable, energetic, sporty, self-assured, and constructive. Orange is the color of success and relates to self respect; having the ability to give ourselves the freedom to be ourselves and helps you expand your interests and activities. Brings joy to our workday and strengthens our appetite for life! Orange is the best emotional stimulant. It connects us to our senses and helps to remove inhibitions and makes us independent and social.

Take care.

What is your source for this? Just curious. I found this to support your statement.

highvibrations.net...

Color Effects the Nervous System In 1942 Russian scientist S.V. Krakov wrote about “Color Vision and Autonomic Nervous System” in the Journal of the Optical Society of America. By1958 he was able to demonstrate that the color red stimulates the sympathetic portion of the autonomic nervous system and that the color blue stimulates the parasympathetic portion. [S.V. Krakov, "Color Vision and the Autonomic Nervous System,"Journal of the Optical Society of America (June, 1942).] Robert Gerard confirmed these findings in 1958, [R.M. Gerard, "Differential Effects of Colored Lights on Psychophysiological Functions," (Ph.D. dissertation, University of California at Los Angeles, 1958), quoted in Liberman, 45.] demonstrating that when 24 normal adult males sat in front of a screen with red light for ten minutes, their blood pressure, arousal via palmar conductance, respiratory movements, and eye-blink frequency increased. When the participants sat in front of a screen with blue or white light, these same factors diminished. Blue increased their sense of relaxation and lessened their anxiety and hostility, while red increased their tension and excitement, as well as their levels of anxiety.

Red is a hot color and blue is a cool color. Stands to reason one would increase and the other would decrease, but this study only had male participants. Be interesting to see how this would apply to women, too.
