Minecraft Tekkit. Seeking some fun folks for my evil world domination plans.

Just wondering if there are a few ATSers out there that are minecraft addicts (tekkit specifically) whom would want to jump on a server and get some things going. Nothing too serious, just a bit of fun and eventually becoming a nuclear power

Requirements: 18+ years old (just because I tend to curse a bit)
Microphones would be handy also (skype group chat or vent)
Witty sense of humor (its a game after all, supposed to have a laugh)

Just looking for about 4-5 people to jump on a personal server.

yogsfans are fine, but no jaffa cake factory! make something else already.

Lemme know on here or in pm if interested..Will start a new world.
Won't remove anything, but I highly discourage energy collectors/red matter crap as its a bit "cheaty" only found one decent use for energy collectors (for initial powering of thermo-generators)
Condensers are fine though.

Also, you can have one world anchor per person..don't want to weigh the server down too much and degrade preformance

Just waiting for a few more peeps before starting the server..until then, download the technicpack and start mucking around. its very different than the normal stuff..massive amounts of technical learning for max fun. You don't have to of course..could play it like normal minecraft, but your missing out on the major parts of technic.

Difficult to explain..and watching a video on it doesn't really do it justice.

ok, basically..its not so much a game as your own world where you can do basically whatever you can think of...building and stuff.
The name of course is minecraft..meaning you mine stuff, and then craft stuff you mined..so, say you want to make a erm..iron gate. Well, you need to start digging..diggy diggy hole until you come across some iron ore..smelt it using a furnace you built powered by coal you found, then use the resulting iron bars to mold into the gate...
aka, you can build anything, but it requires more than just magic..you gotta work for it...so not like the sims or anything where stuff just magically appears.

You want a wood home, then you better get to chopping trees down and forming the logs into planks, etc...

The game initially looks like a butt, everything is a cube..however that quickly becomes the charm of the experience.

Its highly addictive overall.

I recommend watching this series:

Long series, but worth the watch. They start out in a very, very old version of minecraft as they learn..its actually a pretty good basic feel of what its all about.

I'd take a look at your server.... im quite the avid minecraft player...

Do you have a server ip?

What your describing sounds like industrial craft to me, and i had a hell of a time trying to install that mod...

Industrialcraft is one of the mods in technic, yes.
and its very simple. just go here:
TechnicPack
Click on the "download technic launcher"
save it (to desktop or whatnot) and launch that...

choose "tekkit" on the options (it auto installs minecraft and all the mods based on what you select)
Voila..done..choose multiplayer and connect up

If you want a good texturepack, I recommend spacks found HERE
Just drop the entire zip (not opened) in
C:\Users\[yourname]\AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher\tekkit\texturepacks
(directorys will be built once you launch tekkit once)

Got a couple others from elsewhere that pop on occasionally.
guess I could go up to 10 or so..not much of a problem really.

Hey! Yeah! I've been looking for a new tekkit server for a bit now. Question I have is if you're gonna use any of the server mod like towny or economy. Well, seeing as how you're only looking for like 4-5 people I would wager a guess that you're not.

Your correct..no..not doing anything special outside of just tekkit (thats special enough imo.)

I am not massively concerned about economy considering I am more aiming at building some cool stuff over time than having some sort of living/breathing world with the trade and etc etc etc...

In saying that, we have a soft agreement, no red matter, avoid the bulk of EE (exception being the condensor/tablet stuff..at least initially). Also, no asshattery...such as plopping down 20 quarrys and 50 world anchors, etc..this is running as a service on my PC, and if suddenly my machine starts running slow, I may have to initiate rules...(yuck).

Info is up there. contact me on skype or whatnot (saturnfx) for info..need your name for whitelist, ec.

that texture pack I linked to is the 128 version and I find it slows me down
there is a 64b version which works fine for me. had to do some surgery though as it was incomplete by itself (else I would link it).
will send it via skype to anyone who wants it who is on my server of course.

I usually avoid EE, save for Swiftwolfs. Oh, the port is 25565 as usual?

It is the combination of the Sims, and Legos, with monsters thrown in.

So it is perfect for those who are control freaks with OCD issues.

Tekkit is a collection of mods for Minecraft that extends the realm of possibilities. Create things like machines to help make your crafting faster and a nuclear generator to power them. It's pretty awesome.

It's pretty simple. Look up on YouTube "tekkit with Duncan." It's part of the yogscast crew, but he has some really good tutorials.
