My mum has just been diagnosed with brain cancer

Hey guys

It's still early days, but my mum has had 2 lesions identified in her brain - 3.5cm legion at the front, and a 2cm legion somewhere near the back.

They are saying these are shards or secondary growths, and the primary cancer is somewhere in her body; they are doing scans as we speak to try and find out what is going on.

I believe and have faith in current medicine and practices to help treat and cure cancer; but I also know that there must be alternate steps which can be taken in conjunction to help.

Money is not an object - so for the first time in my life, I might be able to use the benefits of my businesses for the good of someone else.

Can anyone suggest anything? Give me any advice? Help in any way?

One thing tho; please don't derail this thread, this is really important to me, and I don't want it falling into the dark recesses of obscurity due to being derailed.

My wife's cousin was diagnosed with lesions on his brain about 6 years ago. He went through stem cell treatment (injections) and it cured him. No more lesions and he's cancer free. I would definitely have your mom look into it.

Also, have your mom stay away from sugar. Cancer feeds off it.

My sincere hope things get better for your mom.

You will get lots of breathless testimony from folks who heard from 'some guy on the net' how to kill cancer by eschewing modern medical treatment (and buying a book). As well meaning as they are...they have no real investment in the results.

Your medical system (since money, thankfully, is not an issue in your case) is staffed with very clever and very earnest people who have decided to make defeating this demon their life's work. Let them do their stuff.

Meanwhile, try alternative methods such as Essiac if your oncologists agree it will not interfere with their regimen. Have her see a naturopath and try to set up a complimentary regimen alongside of her 'standard' treatment.

One could say I don't have any investment in the results of my advice. On the other hand, it is the course that I took when I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Just in passing...the Essiac and other alternatives did nothing to change the pace of my cancer. Radiation cured it...5 years clean. Though I will suggest that Zyflamend can help to ameliorate some of the nasty aspects of radiation.

i,m not going into things like take this or that...i had testicular cancer which had spread to my lungs and spine and i went through the chemo ect....to me when i was told i didn,t have no worries,it was like some1 saying to me u have a fractured leg,it didn,t bother me and as the consultant said thats what probably got me thru it cause i had attitude so what,even being hooked up to chemo machine 24/7 didn,t lower my resolve.......may seem hard but thot if its time to go then i,m ready but it never got to that.

It is in America, however, they also look into " Alternative Forms " of cancer treatment and cures. They use practices and proven medications, but are also very experimental ( alternative medicines ).

Have you taken a look at them? I know it may be expensive, but they aren't your typical medical center. They are adamite about finding cures and treatments regardless of whether it is considered mainstream or not.

They have a number you can call or you can even chat with them live to see what they can do for you.

At least take a look at them if possible. Maybe they can give you some ideas??

If you have ever seen house, they have Doctors that literally sit in a room and go over your case specifically for you / your mother. They also do not accept the fact you are just going to die. You can even opt for advanced theoretical surgeries / medications if the case is bad enough.

If i ever get cancer, this will be the only place i would go.

Because you live in the UK, it's not legal to advertise healthcare on the Internet or in other media venues. Therefore, your Internet search will be limited. Change your Google to the USA or Canada or somewhere else that will offer up search results for healthcare (Google directions on how to change your location in Google).

I was a CEO for a large oncology group and I can tell you first hand, not all oncologists are their method of treatment are the same. What's shocking is they can literally use very old school treatments and not be held accountable. When I saw this happening, we brought in Cancer Treatment Centers of America who only utilize known cancer treatments that are effective.

I would suggest lemongrass tea, turmeric and rosemary as non-pharmacutical alternatives that you could look into.

Just one more thing...to me, the toughest thing about cancer was reassuring everybody else that there was nothing to worry about. Reality is, when you have cancer, that is how you begin to self-identify.

You might want to consider that when interacting with your Mum.
