So I just returned from voting, my polling place (in Boston) is a 5 minute walk from my house and I waited no more than 20 minutes to cast my vote. I know that many people are not so lucky.

For example, even for early voting, many Florida Residents stood in lines for hours and hours. Then of course there was Sandy and I'm sure there's going to be a lot of confusion and long lines to deal with for those affected areas. And let's not forget those that this year had to obtain and produce ID in violation of your Constitutional Rights and those that had to deal with redistricting and voter purges. Last but not least to those serving over-seas who can't even go to a polling place. I know also that many people will bear with it, all the frustration and hassle... and to you folks I say a huge thank-you.

Whether you voted the same as I did or not, you are dedicated enough to our country to put up with a process that takes you hours, days or even weeks. I wish I could buy you dinner, I hope my gratitude will suffice.

I vote by mail; but I live downtown; so there is a ballot lock-box 3 blocks from where I live. I voted yesterday; no lines, no waiting...which I really appreciate.

What to me is interesting though is that there are 2 uniformed guards standing on each side of the (ballot lock-box) guarding it.
