At least a couple centuries, IIRC...

North America was not, in any way, a secret in many circles.

Yes, and verified by C14 dating. That's why we call them the "Tiwanaku Culture" and not the "Inca."

Ah, the Royal ‘We’ of academia used again by Harte who isn’t even an academic.
Take a read of your favourite idiotic , oft quoted source Wikipedia on this subject , here
Wikipedia lies about the Inca
Read how the mainstream are trying to shoehorn this megalithic and polygonal architectural techniques into the timeline of the Inca, when there was a 300 year gap between the Inca and the Tiwanaku culture and no contact between them .
Good old Wiki , eh? Lying in our faces for the mainstream narrative once more , even though the Inca themselves were unaware of the previous culture who ACTUALLY built it all.

they laughed at the question, affirming that they were made before the Yncas ever reigned, but that they could not say who made them.

So the ‘ynca’ superseded a race at these grand megalithic sites whom they never met, never defeated in battle to absorb these places into their culture , and did not know who they were .

The two types of construction methods are plain to see , ‘Ynca ‘ small blocks and dry stone walling overlaid into huge megalithic blocks that you can’t get a sheet of paper between the stone joints.

You really enjoy your own ignorance, don't you.
Show me the polygonal stonework of the Tiwanaku culture.
The fact is, your own PERSONAL desires regarding the ancient world are meaningless in the face of the ACTUAL evidence in hand.
You would rather have Archaeologists give you a call for your uneducated opinion first, before they formulate an idea.
Someday you'll need to come to the realization that your desires have no impact on reality, and no Archaeologists are going to ask you first before publishing.

You insanely hop around from gunners' mates making gunpowder to ancient Egyptian times.

Learn to read. That wasn't me, it was YOU.

You just said the people who predated the Inca were from ancient Egyptian times.

Not to mention, if a person has Old World DNA, how do you know if it's pre- or post-Columbian? The Spanish could have had some sailors from N. Africa or the Middle East with them. They'd need a fairly comprehensive database and sophisticated analysis to gauge when an ancestor came over to the New World.

We have that comprehensive database. It's called the Human Genome Project.

New DNA analysis shows that Polynesians introduced chickens to South America well before Christopher Columbus first set foot in the New World.

Have they conclusively published findings on this topic?

That's not new evidence, and you can read all about this in several different old threads right here at ATS.
It's not even evidence, really. Birds peck and swallow stones and ceramics and keep them in their gizzards to help masticate the food they eat.
If the stone objects contain old carbon, so will the bird's body, and these birds were found at a site with multiple shell middens. Shells are (of course) full of old carbon, as they are made of calcium carbonate, which the shellfish gets from sea water.

In a manner of speaking.
But it is absolutely a valid explanation.

I just noticed that at least one famous painting of the famous Cherokee chief Sequoyah looks just like the TV show Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary, who is half Lebanese.

Sequoyah's father is thought to have been from Southwestern Germany.

Perhaps his other relatives were distantly related to some pre-Columbian visit from the Middle East?

Of course, it could be from a post-Columbian visit as well. But I'd rather speculate it was a pre-Columbian visit which was helping fund the Ottoman conquest of Europe, which Europe had to stop by confiscating the New World.
Doesn't LeeAnn Rimes look a little bit like Moammar Qaddaffi?

Of course, there could have been post-Columbian contact as well.

So, debate me on it.

Where does YOUR body get its carbon?

Ingesting Sugars , Carbohydrates , Fats and Proteins , into the Human Body in the presence of oxygen is known as Aerobic Respiration .This Biochemical Reaction occurs inside our bodies’ Cells and produces Carbon Dioxide Gas as a Byproduct .

If there were bits of the shells of mollusks in your digestive tract, would you get carbon from them?
How about if your primary food source was mollusks?
The mollusks get their carbon from the extremely ancient carbon reserves in the ocean.

Timeline doesn't work out. At the time point when Olmecs were flourishing, the Polynesians were just beginning to begin migrating out of the Philippines. Plus the art and architecture isn't a match.
