Many childrens shows now are educational, whereas the shows when I grew up, like Scooby Do, Bugs Bunny, etc. weren't.

I don't know about you all, but having cartoons that was just for entertainment was what inspired my imagination as a kid. The parents should be doin' the edumacatin' not some cartoon or even Sesame St. At least when bugs bunny was around, all they seemed to try to sell you was some cereal. I know good and well it has its effects on kids though. Remember bugging the piss out of your mother at the grocery store for the good stuff and not cheerios? LOL.

Seriously though, commercial television only exists as a place to advertise stuff. Otherwise most of it wouldn't be so free.

Conditioning from TV shows goes so deep we don't realise.
One of the major effects is on our emotions. We are conditioned to act on our emotions rather than our inteligence. And kids educational shows are part of this.
A society that acts on emotions is easy to manipulate to hate (e.g. the present enemy)or support (the gov no matter what), through shows/media designed to trigger a certain emotional state in the population. It doesn't have to work on everybody, just the vunerable majority. A person acting on emotion doesn't think, they just react.
It's hard to recognise your emotions have been #ed with as an idividual, but look at the population as a whole and you'll see.

Even though there may be many kid shows on TV these days, they actually teach preschoolers and younger children things. When I'm home from school sick I tend to watch these shows and they do teach things, they aren't on the TV just to look pretty. Don't complain about TV shows because you don't like them or that they aren't aimed at your age range. Plus, you can watch all the pointless TV shows at night. I know they don't teach you much, it's just a little laugh here and there to make you day better or to cheer you up.

Now about commercials, the dreaded things that make you wait to see what happens next in the movie or show, right? Ha, they're just on TV to lure people into buying things at their stores or resturants. If you don't like watching them change the channel or get up and do something until your show is back on. Don't complain, they won't go away. Commercials will always be commercials, get used to it!

If you don't like little kid shows or commercials, why are you watching TV then? I watch TV rarely and you don't see me complaining. Get up listen to music or go out with friends. TV isn't everything!!
