Deleted threads and Post Counts?

Honestly I just care about hitting 150 so i can chat once in a while. I was excited to think i was 2/3 of the way there, but maybe I wasn't. I don't know, and I'll admit it. Glad to see this thread getting as much attention as it is either way.

Well there was a thread last week about obama, and i posted many posts
showing why i believed obama played the role of osama bin laden, and quite a few
people were opening up to the (truth of the) idea.
Low and behold, the next time i logged in, the thread was completed vanished
and all references to the posts i made were removed from my posting history.

I am beginning to think that ATS may be a gatekeeping operation, but i am
not sure.

Most websites have a glitch somewhere, and usually a few. That said, I have never seen my post count deviate. I'm not saying it can't happen, but Skeptic Overlord does a stellar job with the code here. If there's a glitch, he'll find it and fix it.

with all due repect to the mods....i don't think it's such a glamorous job. they have to be on the job for a certain amount of time. they have to go through posts that are probably boring (like mine), and it doesn't pay enough to buy that new ferrari.

Very nice, of course it was meant in a jovial manner, you guys work hard for free, i would not put you guys down. ( well maybe for a couple posts after i get a T&C, but only because i am kinda douche like that somtimes)

I should have figured you crazy Mods, more like Loki, it does make sense.

Off hand I would say you have possibly confused your ATS Points now at 371, with your post count.

Members post count or points are not deducted from them if a thread they posted to was trashed.

You're misunderstanding my comment. I wasn't talking about the thread, I was talking about your post count. Threads don't disappear by themselves, they are indeed trashed if they are gone. But as Sauron just said, post counts don't normally deviate. At least I've never known of anyone complaining of such.

I think my account has a Ghost in the Machine.
I have had two threads trashed and I got 2 Mods messages. But it says I have had 4 threads trashed.

Very weird as I can't think what the other 2 could be. So I ignored it but I do wonder if I should get worried, if there is a Ghost. This Ghost needs to be told off and severely spanked.

BTW I think the Mods do a good job, I couldn't be one.

Very well possible, I know none of the threads I started were trashed, I was thinking it was threads I posted in that others started. Like the multiple hurricane Sandy threads.

I dont see why they dont let us see the Trash Bin.
they could make it over 21 only.
but they have a Lot to hide.
so you will continue to lose posts.

Interesting idea, maybe the mods reading this thread will take it into consideration. Only problem is that there's no way to verify age without using those porn site type age verification systems.

Or the honor system method, which has worked so well for the adult business so far. /sarcasm
