Here's the track for you :

Forecasts for the nor'easter part of this seem pretty rough, too.

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to chime in with prayers and wishes for the safety and well being of those in the path of the storm. Having seen what happened after Andrew in FL, I know there will be huge amounts of stress in the short term, and some long-term slogging-through-it for some of those hit hardest.

I'm only on the outside fringes of this monster, and it is still significantly powerful.

Please, please, please play it safe!

peace,
AB

Sounds like it might have been a transformer blowing.

For the Archives.
Wonder if folks will come together or fall apart.
It will be interesting to examine the outcome.
What do you think?

Having experienced a few Florida hurricanes, yes those green, red and purple flashes in the skies are attributed to transformers blowing.

Here is my attempt to post the image here on ATS. I don't have flash so I can't upload to this site (iPad).

I can't figure out why that won't work. But it is a good pic to share, I thought!

Looks like a military takeover, with your friend flipping us all the bird!

I know that aw the point! I was kinda freaked put by the humvees. But their police station is also connected to a fire rescue squad station (hence the bay doors in the background) so they could also be used for the fire dept for rescues and med transports etc.

4 transformers blew up in one area. And it seems the wind is picking up.

Sorry it just freaked me out a bit. Never saw anything like that before. If it was some transformers blowing we still have power for now so it probably was far away.

After three days trapped on some island boroughs with no cell phone and restaurants, it will be like a movie starring Kurt Russell as a dude named Snake.

Wishing everyone back East all the best. I hope you're all as safe as possible and that the the loss of life and material damage is minimal. I live in Southern California, and I know that our time of crisis is coming sooner or later. I can only imagine what you're going through. I'm from the Midwest, and I grew up in tornado country, so I know just how hairy it can get. And when trees start crashing into homes, there's just not much you can do other than relocate to a shelter. My best to you all. Stay safe!
