i my un-proffesional opinion no it doesn't look real

the black hole is too perfectly round, someone else would know if it's been photoshopped or altered

Not a black hole..
A black hole would have a less uniform shape to it and the mass around it would have a definite colour gradient/brightness gradient/distribution gradient around it, due to the gravity of the black hole

So where did you get this image? I assume you didnt just find it on ImageShack. Give us the link to the web-page. I doubt this will be possible.

Well, we definitely know where browha stands on this one!! .

Seriously, IMHO, that's no black hole. It looks like it's sucking in the entire galaxy! I don't think so. Plus, as browha stated, it's too perfect and uniform.

Chalk it up to another failed attempt in Photoshop!!

Definitely fake, black hole would be invisible from those distances (too small)... or this big black hole (/its accretion disc) would shine thousands/millions time brighter than whole galaxy, blinding observer.

It's The Andromeda Galaxy, the original image is linked below.

Since black holes are still theoreticall, I would suspect that tangible proof in the form of a photograph would be BIG news and posted on ATS post haste by someone with the bona fides to authenticate them.

Another flaw--
Gravity from the blackhole is uniform and as such the mass gradients that you see in thepicture should occur all around it, instead of out at 180 degrees from each other!

Black holes arent theoretical, they've 'seen' them with the Hubble, as much as you can see something that doesnt emit light..
But a picture of a black hole would be similar to the fake one posted here..
We can also indirectly measure them using Einstein's relativity theory and see the light bending..
They have equations which describe Black Holes, see Universe in a Nutshell by Stephen Hawking.. They are quitebasic!

Its not just you. There were trpl post all over this board at the same time. Saw 4 threads with the exact same thing. At first it was just a huge slowdown, then anyone who was posting at that tim trpl posted

Any way, I still cant see the pic of the fake black whole, but I am able to see every other pic posted here, so whats going on?

Oh, and deevee, Im almost positive that it has been proven that a black hole exist at the center of every galixie

No but this is.

Sorry I had to do it.

It is obvious that the black spot was photoshopped onto the image. This can be seen in the larger sample.
