i'm sure many of you have tattoos. well i'm thinking of getting one, and was wondering what does everyone have, and is there a special meaning or story that goes along with it?

Well, I cant go into too much detail, as my tattoos are attached to my personnel file (long story), but I do have a few, and am working on a new backpiece, which will be a really cool scene with a Dragon.

I've got both of my arms in half sleeves that go up on my chest and on my back. I've also got flames on my right leg that start at my ankle and go up to my knee. The sleeves are a collage of different things. My left arm is sleeved in traditional American pin-up stuff i.e pinup girls, spider webs, swallows, etc etc. My right arm sleeve is of traditional Japanese tattooing, i.e coy fish, samurais, dragons, etc etc. I really love both styles and when it came down to it, I decided to encorporate them together. They come at a point on my back together and transition into each other, the same on my chest. All of them have special meaning for me and I wouldnt change them for the world. Most of them have storys behind them, but there are a few that I really enjoyed the artists work and wanted to let him go and let him almost 'freestyle' if you will on me. I wouldnt get something you're not gonna like when you're 60. Dont go to some tourist or popular tattoo shop as they are likely to just want to get you in and out. Make sure you look at the artists portfolio. If possible, and if you can afford it, take the guy who charges the most. I payed around 125 bucks an hour for mine. Trust me, you get what you pay for.

p.s Aegis, I thought Blizzard could have done a much better job on Warcraft III myself, what do you think?

I've chosen traditional japanese design and are mixing it with tribal design for the motiff of my tats. Of course they all mean something to me on all levels. Before getting a tat think carefully about it . Other than that the only good advice I can give you is DONT walk into a tattoists shop and choose a design of the flash sheets on the wall. Design your own or have the artist do it for you. A custom tat will mean more to ya than a popular fashionable tat that most people will have.

You know I have never thought about getting a tattoo. Probably for the main reason that if my dad ever knew I would be disowned from the family literally. I know that is a bit harsh but that one I can live with. My dad has done so much for me in my life.. It's just easier to let him have a clear concious knowing that I will never get one.

I have two butterflies the size of a quater on the left-side bottom of my tummy...one you can see over the panty line the other is below. and I got my name (Tina) in cursive on my right arm. I wanna do something on my lower back though i just haven't found anything feminine enough.

I have two tattoos and would like to get one more, possibly two. They can be addicting, after I got my first, I was ready for another before that one even healed, I dont know why.

Before you get it, do think of how it will look when you are older, dont get something you'll regret. Your grandchildren are going to want to know what it is.

One is on my bicep and one on my calf, I prefer to keep them where they can be hidden if I need them to be (i.e. job interview, etc.)

Yeah, thats a good idea.I have to wear long sleeves if I need to go to a job interview.Which really sucks when its 105 degrees outside.

I am interested if there are any more women who have, or are contemplating tattoos?

I have noticed in the past, tattoos were thought of as not "feminine" enough for most women, but lately, I have noticed a lot of women getting tattoos, and rather large ones (visible on arms, legs, ect).

I personally find tattoos very sexy on women. Just wondering if there were any others here who thought so as well.

I would have to agree, tattoos on women are very sexy as long as theyre in moderation.

I hope y'all know what you are doing, you'll have to walk around with them for the rest of your lives!

Remember that about 10 years ago, or even a bit earlier, tribals were considered very special and origional. After a year of two everybody wanted a tribal on their body... nowadays tribals aren't that special anymore, and most people hate them and want to get rid of their tribals...

Perhaps once I'll get one too...
