I have been banned for 24 hours on Facebook for putting a picture up on this page. www.facebook.com...

The picture has been removed.

This was the picture:

Why would they ban me for this, I have also known at least 2 other people who have been banned lately I had never heard of these temporary bans before. one ban was for 72 hours and one was for 48 hours.

For 1. What is so wrong with the image, and 2. Is it not my choice what I put up on my wall or on my account if it is within the law? freedom of speech and all that.

The internet and especially Facebook are starting to censor more and more what people say. Free speech is slowly being chipped away, in place of political correctness and other such toff.

I have logged a complaint with Facebook and asked them what terms and conditions I breached by doing this, but doubt I will get a reply.

Has anyone else noticed a more censored internet lately such as Youtube, Twitter and Facebook.?

My banned Facebook Image.

1) do you have a bigger picture so that I can actually see what it says?

2) Freedom of speech only applies to government and their ability to limit your speech and expression. A private company can limit speech and expression any way they so choose.

I wouldn't trust facebook. All the big sites are controled by MSM and tptb. You haven't figured that out yet?

So tell us the story behind the photo please???

You're not banned. You just can't use that feature. It sucks. You want to do something and they control you. It happened to me on Vimeo. For logging in with a Hushmail email address.

edit: Alright, same thing. They banned you from doing anything basically...

To answer this question simply....No!

FB is owned and operated by a company and they and they alone have the eight to determine what is or is not acceptable. Just like ATS there are T&C.

I wouldn't take it too hard, I got banned for selling the same homing pigeon 24 times on eBay. Timing couldn't be worse too, I'm also selling a stalking kit and it's got six people watching it.

I don't have a bigger picture but I would have thought the pictures were big enough to see.

I know what your saying about the private company OptimusSubprime but Facebook, used to be OK I have posted loads of things on there a lot worse than that, I see pictures everyday, racist, and demeaning pictures that are not challenged, so why my picture being taken off, also there are loads of bans going around at the minute they are really cracking down.

Did you know people are getting paid to mention products in their Facebook statuses? That's as crazy as the discounts at Dave's Furniture Emporium...

That, and named the picture cutepuppies.jpg instead... I'm pretty sure they don't have roving staff that keep a constant eye for what people are uploading or commenting on and it would make more sense that this is done by certain filters in place that can extract that of which is against T&C's, so the image itself probably didn't get you banned, but the name of the image did.

It is about Obama being gay in college, that is what I was talking about on the topic. Not that there is anything wrong with that I was just pointing out how false he was.

Okay, it's a picture of Barack Obama with his room mate at the time, Hasan Chando. (Occidental College days) I'd be curious what you were posting it in relation to? Does it suggest or show something interesting?

Perhaps Facebook is just to a point beyond where even ATS has gotten so far...and they're being outright ruthless about taking down what may start more endless political fighting days before the election happens?

I could be off...but the nature of the photo suggests that as a possible motive?

Is it just me, or are 80% of the people in the “people you may know” feature on Facebook people that you do know, but deliberately choose not to be friends with?

That really should be all you need to know about FB. It's not like they're your friends. They're Satan's own minions. Get off and don't go back.

Why do people want to hang around where their opinions are not welcomed and their practice of free speech frowned upon? That's what I don't understand. If they don't accept you as you are, don't support them. Go somewhere where your thoughts and opinions are welcomed....

I got a friend request on Facebook by a guy from Ethiopia, I accepted him, but then realized it was a big mistake. All he ever talks about is what he's not having for dinner.
