Hi All. This is my first thread so please be gentle!

I find it absolutely fascinating that we constantly see what we want to see in pictures, clouds, rock formations etc etc. Name an image and I'm sure the human mind can find some kind of familiarity with it.

The photographs returned by the Curiosity Rover have stirred up a lot of debate. In particular, the supposed image of a Guinea Pig. Now, it might be an animal, but it's more than likely a rock. So, in the spirit of being a dreamer and being adventurous here's a few other pics from the photo that sparked the rodent debate. Might (or might not) get you thinking.

The Guinea Pig.

The Dead Vulture

It Fits!

The Face.

Geometrical Rock

Mice??

And, last but not least, WTF IS THIS????

Anyway, this post is all in the name of fun. But, the last image raises a few questions. All things considered, it is not a rock. Please post your Pareidolia pics of Mars here. It will be a good reference point

They look like rocks to me, randomness is bound to produce a recognisable shape every now and again.

What do you see in the last photo, and why do you believe it is not a rock?

I am with you. I don't see anything either.

P.S. I'm in love with the face of your avatar.

You sound kind of sure that "it is not a rock".

Why?

What gives you that idea?

I see rocks.

I see rocks, too. But read my thread title again, just in case you missed what I was trying to say. In this particular photo I don't see a rock. I see an object that looks like it has two geometrically similar sides to it, with a centre piece object that appears to be square in its formation. I also see what appears to be a zig zag pattern in the right hand side of the "object". And, no, I didn't make this clear in the original post.

Pareidolia is what this post is about. I see something that I don't recognise as a rock. It may be 3 or 4, or even 20 rocks. But, the plain fact is, it does not look like "a rock". It looks like it belongs on the loader that Ripley used in "Aliens" to kill the queen.

That's just MY perspective. I wasn't suggesting that this object wasn't a rock(s). I was asking what others might think it is. Your opinion in valued just as much as anyone else's.

*sighs* I never see any of these likenesses everyone else seems to. The way I see it, Mars is a huge party for gawking. Except I'm the only one who doesn't walk away with a pareidolia door prize (or at least that's typically how it feels, lol)
