actually if you look at everything past the OP its a very good thread and a very good example of "research" and detective work sifting through the net to try and validate or debunk...it really is a great thread to set and example of why ATS is a great forum.

At least that's how I see it...

It's called cognitive dissonance where there is a conflict between the existing beliefs (conspiracy) and the facts presented by many others. So they adjust the facts to fit the conspiracy! The classic one being that everyone presenting the facts is lying and are part of the cover-up. Another, as you have noted, is to re-work the conspiracy to encompass the facts. The Elenin nonsense did a lot of that, each fact resulted in a re-working of how Niburu was going to destroy us.

Now here's the very very spooky bit. They have done tests where they split people up into two groups and tell each group a different version of a story (made up but they don't know that). Then they put the two groups together.......guess what. Nobody changes their beliefs !!!! on a made up story !! Even when.....even spookier....both groups are informed of the truth about the test !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW

I changed a brightness a bit more, and cropped both, also made the color photo to b&w , and you right they are a same photos. Excellent Job! Now I am upset , because I guess this is proof for it is no movie, just Photoshopped photos...

That's exactly how I tried to debunk this last night because something in the back of my mind told me that photo in particular was the key to proving this is a hoax. I typed in "people running in panic" and searched through photo after photo, but never saw this one.

Sadly, I was kind of looking forward to this happening....

Seriusly as an IT specialist I highly recommend changing passwords and downloading malewarebytes and running multiple scans if you went chasing the video. Also if you do any banking from home id monitor accounts or change passwords over tye phone. Your computer was most likely infected with something.

Is just browsing a forum going to do anything if you're not downloading files? I run a script blocker to disable flash and java, does that mean I can't get any nasties?
