Do you think the Extremists would feel less hatred toward the Western world if our government would tend to mind their business rather than deploy troops to their region?

I honestly think they hate us because we're there. Sure they may hate that we're whores and sell our soul for a dollar in our capitalist system, but if we weren't always trying to instill OUR ideas onto them, I think the hatred would cool down quite a bit.
What do you think?

I only say this because of my experiences with people in the ME, and the knowledge gathered from interactions with people in the ME since the 1970's.

Extremists want us dead because we exist. We are an affront to their beliefs.

Just look at Baptists in America! It's not enough to allow different beliefs. There has to be an elimination of any dissention.

Thx.

Is it more of the capitalist system and greed that they hate, or is it more a matter of us being infidels because most of us are non Muslims?
What specifically about our existence is getting under their skin?

A pro Israeli group conducts a 'study' in which the people of that nation seem to espouse the exact beliefs that Israel is fighting against?

Non-nuclear ideology isn't an Israeli position, it should be a global position.

The common people in the Middle East are same humans as us. They live, breathe, bleed, laugh and cry like us. Their aims and goals in life are the SAME as us, because we are all only one race.

Only man made differences set us apart, and the ones who can do that are the leaders or teachers.

In the case of Islam, it is often the monarchies, no different from european monarchies or tyrants such as Stalin and Putin, hell bent on preserving their rule, from setting up the differences, using lies and halftruths. Then the community leaders such as the clerics toe the line and play up the differences.

The rapacious monarchs got filthy rich, and to ensure the common masses are kept stupid and dependent, social expenditure was doled out only in limited quantities, that even the clerics are not given proper well grounded education, but only regurgitation of ancient 7th century dogmas when Islam was meant for progress.

Instead, the Western democracies were the ones who progressed and evolved, trade flow and with it, communication grew that touched even the goat herder in the remotest regions of M.E, and they realized what they had been missing, so too had the younger generation when versed with education finally and the internet.

It set them free. And thus the Arab Springs to free themselves to be what the Prophet Muhammad had taught them to be, but morally and ethically guided to progress and evolve beyond the barbaric lifestyles of their pre 7th century ancestors.

Unfortunately, such beliefs were dangerous to the rule of those whom wish to continue with their priviledges in life, similar with the western world centuries ago, espacially the Mullahs and Clerics who see their dominance in society crumbling and be treated as idiots as they truly are.

Another group were the more violent common folks, whom had saw the corruption and enslavement by their rulers upon them, and wish to end it by force as that is the only way that they believed the rulers would understand.

And the VILEST group were the ones, a mixture of all kinds - ruler, mullahs, violent folks - extremists, whom made use of a ready religion. twisting it to a warped idelogy to twist the minds of the suffering masses, not for the freedom of the masses, but to use them to achieve power and wealth, as the next gods-on-Earth.

Anyone who stand in their way is to be eliminated, with no remorse, for they believed that they are absolved of any wrongdoing by their god - only a god created by the vile group to fool them and not the true deity of mainstream religions. Even true muslims were targetted and slaughtered.

The free west whom only seek for trade and peace, stand in their way, for the west is rich and has military might whom are seen to be supporting the rulers of the M. E, many of them mainly sunnis already adopting constitutional rule with ongoing reforms. and had often been opposing such groups upon human rights issues. As such, all means have to be use to take down the west, often using lies upon those uneducated or easily manipulated simple minded folks.

Hiding amongst honest peaceful muslims, they had succeeded in the past, but not anymore, as more true muslims had seen the horrors of what they are proposing to societies and are standing up to them, or informing the authorities of who and where they are.

It is not muslims one needs to be afraid of. It is the extremists, which exists in all religions, that mankind must be wary of.

And the only way to kill it is NOT with bullets, for no bullets can destroy idealogies, but by only better idealogy - truth, common grounds and Rule of Law, not just the work of true muslims, but all mankind who wishes such extremists exterminated, not just for oneselves, but for the innocent next generations as well.

Nuke stations proliferation is a grave concern to humanity, let alone nuke WMD proliferation, espacially after a few recent disasters that scared our world recently.

In the hands of responsible rule of law nations, which is open and transparent, the worry is lesser compared to rogue nations that observes no laws except what their leaders say and do at the moment, without a care or concern to not only to the world community, but even to their own citizens.

This issue is something ALL mankind have to ponder over, for nukes are the WMD damocles sword that hangs over our heads by a thin rope, ready to fall anytime and annihilate all.

Nuke fights are not one shot out, sit back and relax over a cup of tea to see the next response or arbitrate at UN next month. It will be a total massive launch of ALL WMD arsenal from every nation on Earth at once upon enemies and their presumed allies if even one nuke is launched unannounced within 30 seconds.......

I find it very amusing when these threads pop up.

Why?

Go on, ask me why...

Here it comes....

Who has been the only country in the world to ever use "the bomb" domestically?

No matter who "wants the bomb" anymore, fact is only one country has ever used it. I wonder who that was?

It's funny how scared the west is 70 years later... Well, it's not comical "funny", rather ironic.

Anyway, bed time for me! Tomorrow's another day!

The big picture doesn't look pretty!

Especially when NPT signatory members ignore their obligations and others justify their actions and deny the possible consequences.

IMHO of course.

The arab nations have wanted nuclear bombs since the 1970's. This is nothing new. If Israel has the bomb, they want the bomb.

Didn't the Muslim Brotherhood assassinate Anwar Sadat and injure Mubarak in ????? ('79)?

There's always conflict in the ME, nukes won't ease tensions, I fear.

Syria has had issues with the Muslim Brotherhood going back decades as well.

Great point.

Oh, how lovely. Now Egypt wants the bomb. Who's next? Syria, they're stable. Hamas? All they want is unicorns and flowers. How about Afghanistan? We could call it a going-away gift.
Now this is just a "poll" but once the proliferation starts, where would it end?

The story (or nightmare, if you prefer) is here.

A brief item from the article

A poll of Egyptians conducted last month shows that they have increasingly positive views of Iran, believe that both Iran and Egypt should obtain nuclear weapons, and still trust their own military more than any other institution in Egypt.
The poll of 812 Egyptians, half of them women, was conducted in a series of in-person interviews by the firm Greenberg Quinlan Rosner and sponsored by the Israel Project, a pro-Israel advocacy organization with offices in Washington and Jerusalem. According to the poll, Iran is viewed favorably in Egypt, with 65 percent of those surveyed expressing support of the decision to renew Egypt-Iran relations and 61 percent expressing support of the Iranian nuclear project, versus 41 percent in August 2009.

Sixty-two percent of those polled agreed that "Iran and its president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, are friends of Egypt," though 68 percent held unfavorable views of Shiite Muslims.

I know how many are going to "side" on this issue. Go on and shout! Me? I'll be digging my bomb shelter.

Anybody who supports or justifies this garbage doesn't live in the real world.

Here we have a country that just went through a revolution and is very unstable which by the way has prominent members stating out loud and point blank that Jerusalem will be "Egypt's New capital" and now wants the bomb..

Think about it people.
