NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - One furry friend with a knack for predicting the winner of presidential elections has spoken.

Gnocchi the squirrel chowed down on a bowl of peanuts with Gov. Romney's face over it, selecting the Republican candidate as the winner of the upcoming presidential election.

Gnocchi successfully selected Obama in the 2008 Democratic primary. He also picked Obama to win the 2008 presidential election.

Well, it's decided then. No need for any more polls or debates. The squirrel has chosen Romney as the next President of the United States. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

Plus, Gnocchi chose Romney over Obama by a somewhat of a good margin, 9 to 5.

When given the choice between two bowls of peanuts representing each candidate, Gnocchi ate the peanuts out of Romney's bowl, nine peanuts to five.

Well done mr. squirrel, well done.

Well, that is good enough for me.

I was having some trouble deciding, but the squirrel makes sense.

What was I thinking...

Mr. Squirrel may very well have chosen Romney, but have you forgotten that Honey Boo Boo endorsed Obama? There, what does that do to Romney's chances?

Well, I'll give my prediction here since it's worth about as much as the squirrel's: Election is very close, between 2 percentage points, one state is contested, court battle ensues.

In addition to this squirrel, and the roach race another poster mentioned above....here's another prediction from something that has accuratley predicted elections before.....

A computer...

www.israelnationalnews.com...

Mitt Romney will win – and win big – according to a computer model that has successfully predicted the last eight presidential elections.

Romney will win every “swing” state and will wallop President Barack Obama 320-218 in the electoral college vote, according to the forecast by two professors running the University of Colorado computer model, as reported by the London Daily Mail: The computer model projection has correctly predicted every presidential election since 1980.

The above article (from August) says the data used is from June, and will be updated with September data. I found a link to the most recent updated one.

reason.com...

Mitt Romney will win the presidential race in November, according to an updated forecasting model that has accurately predicted the leader of the free world in the past eight elections.

The last article is from October 10.

Looking good for Romney I must say....squirrels, roaches, computers that predict the future....

ETA - Here's the predicted map

I think we should just ask the squirrel to make all our decisions for us especially regarding our foreign policy. Would be a major improvement over the people running the show now. I say crown the squirrel King.

He's silly, the country is too polarized for that kind of a victory on either side.

I wonder if the squirrel will be doing interviews?

Fox news, CNN, Jon Stewart, Meet the depressed...

Does the squirrel have an agent?
