Republican Rep. Darrell Issa has threatened to subpoena the Department of Health and Human Services if it does not turn over documents by Thursday on a program he claims is being used to "buy" the election by hiding the effects of ObamaCare.
"What they're really doing is trying on the eve of an election not to have seniors realize that the cuts to Medicare Advantage were real," Issa told Fox News in an interview earlier this month.
“The quality bonus payment demo is providing incentives to more (Medicare Advantage) plans to improve care, giving more patients high-quality choices in the program," the department said in a written response to FoxNews.com. "It is consistent with previous demos."

Everything is a conspiracy with Obama.
*snip*
We have seen this with Birhters, Death Panels, Obama being a Muslim, Obama being a socialist, Obama being weak on terrorists, Obama being weak on immigration, Obama raising taxes, super inflation, Fast and Furious, and now the latest one Benghazi.
The congressman further says the effects of ObamaCare's $200 billion in Medicare Advantage cuts over the next decade would have been felt starting this week -- if not for the bonus payments. Thanks to them, he wrote in an August letter, the project offsets 71 percent of the cuts this year.

This will probably turn out to be nothing. That said, I bet the same people who are lambasting cuts to Medicare are the same ones who push for cuts all the time.
So basically Obama is hiding doing what you wanted him to do all along. Maybe Obama just doesn't want your vote?
Oversight Productions, the media shop for the House committee on Oversight & Government Reform released a video Oct. 18 that explains the extraordinary bookeeping used to explain cuts to Medicare Advantage. The video also features Rep. Darrell E, Issa (R.-Calif.) the committee’s chairman.
New video exposes Obama’s Medicare Advantage scheme
Thirteen million American seniors use Medicare Advantage to get their healthcare. To partially fund Obamacare, the President has cut Medicare Advantage by more than $200 billion over the next 10 years.
To make sure seniors don't notice that Medicare Advantage is being drained to fund Obamacare, the Obama Administration decided to take extralegal action to offset 71% of the cuts this year. But what happens after November 6th? The program ends and Seniors on Medicare Advantage feel Obamacare's cuts.

Well after reading up even more I found out that AARP did some back room dealings. And stand to make more money on this. You see, AARP sells medigap insurance. And thanx to these changes in medicare even more financially strapped seniors will have to buy medigap. $40 a month doesn't seem like much to you or I, but that could erase many years of cost of living increases for seniors. $40 a month could mean the difference in homelessness or not getting some prescriptions they need. Or even paying to warm their home.
Would someone in this situation elect the very person that will be responsible for this? No! Thus why it was given a temporary Bandaid. It should have actually have started this very month! This plan offers 200 billion in savings over 10 years! Which would mean 20 billion a year. That is a lot of slack for the seniors of this country to pick up with their very limited budgets.
But what is scariest is that I don't have a clue if $40 for every Medicare Advantage plans member adds up to 20 billion a year. So there are possibly even more expenses seniors will be responsible for.edit on 18-10-2012 by elouina because: (no reason given)
