Watched the debate earlier and can't say either side did much to win my vote.

There was nothing that either candidates did that made me think, 'Wow, I can not vote for someone with those ideas' or 'Wow, I have to vote for him because of ___'.

It seems Obama performed much better in this debate, leaving many pundits to assert, 'Obama was really on his game tonight'. That was more telling than anything for me... so a president has to put on his game face in order to give the best performance?

It would be nice to have a choice for president that doesn't have to put on a game face or a show face in order to perform well. Maybe one day we will have the choice of a candidate who has to do nothing more than be themselves in order to be successful in debate and office.

I don't feel Romney performed better than the previous debate, but Obama did (which isn't saying much, considering the previous performance, where he was off his 'game'). My opinion is that the debate was very close, as the candidates seemed on par with each other in general...

Although I think the debate was close in general, I believe Romney came out on top, due to just a couple 'big plays' he made. Like when he was asking Obama about his Chinese investments and Obama couldn't wipe off the silly grin. Instead of answering the direct question from Romney, Obama kept grinning, then made a joke as a diversion, before finally pleading with the moderator to bring the debate back on topic - all without answering the question about his (Obama's) own Chinese investments.

Regardless of Obama or Romney, one other thing that drives me nuts is when someone in such a position thinks it is OK to crack jokes and act like a comedian to flip the subject, instead of acting like hte POTUS or potential POTUS...

Afterwards, there was a question to the undecided voters by Hannity or someone, 'What do you need to know to award your vote - my answer would be; who is the independent or 3rd party candidate?

And yet you just proved my point. You are not expanding because you made profit, you are considering because demand has grown. Whether Obama wins or not you are going to hire when demand reaches the point you cannot keep up with it on your own. That is just a fact.

No, it is not a fact. I will keep my business at a growth rate to continue to support myself, and keep what money I have in reserve, right where it is, in reserve. You have no clue what my business plans are. But, I will tell you, what direction I go is based on who wins this election.

And did ya catch that look of fear and fire on Obama's face as he said "get the transcripts"

He was caught completely off guard.

Crowley did all she could to deflect and eat up the clock before the questions about the "magic video" got out of hand

He pushed the video thing for more than a week before finally admitting it was in fact an attack without protests

Obama mentioned "acts of terror" that day (Sept 12th) but never referred to the Libya attack as a specific "act of terror".

Obama was lucky. But not lucky enough.

exposed !

It is pretty clear that he is in fact referring to the specific act as one of terrorism whether or not it was a planned attack or a spontaneous protest that caused it at that point. He wasn't making any distinction between the two possibilities and set an outcome for it. To find and drone attack those responsible.

Well as usual, Breitbart has more points.

***UPDATE 3: Even Politico's Mike Allen is questioning Crowley's call.

***UPDATE 2: Even Washington Post fact-checker Glenn Kessler says Crowley got it wrong: Obama "did not say terrorism."

***UPDATE: After the debate, Anderson Cooper was the first member of the CNN post debate group to question whether or not Romney really got the Libya issue wrong. They then brought Crowley on and after all the damage she had done during the debate, she finally admitted that Romney was "right" but "picked the wrong word."

killshot:

Here's what Obama said that day:

No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for.

Context matters and the context here is that Obama connected this "act of terror" to … a mob action over a YouTube video -- not a deliberate terrorist attack. Obama was using the term generically and it would be almost two weeks before he used it again.

Let's not forget that Susan Rice said declaratively on the five Sunday shows four days later that it was NOT an act of terror.

And during those two weeks the Obama administration lied like a rug. For Crowley to step in and attempt to correct Romney on a statement that is at best arguable, was completely out of line. The debate over this debate has only begun.

Crowley's False Fact Check Saves President, Derails Debate - UPDATE: Crowley Backtracks

Please explain the different category of women. Equal but different? Evidently they are kept in binders, as in the 'binders full of women' remark Romney made.
(I'd like to learn how a person could be a Morman for five years- were you Morman as a child? Did you marry into the faith? But that's another topic- even though it would be nice to know more about Mormanism, being that one of the candidates is a Morman. He spoke of believing in God during the debate.

I can't disagree with what you perceived about the debate, because they are just that, perceptions. My perception of the debate was different. I don't feel that either candidate succeeded in the points of debate department, but one candidate spoke more clearly about issues with which I was concerned. I'm undecided, but perhaps some points made during this debate will help me decide.

Congrats on your success! Now for the fun part... just wait until you see what the expenses are when you decide to hire an employee and do it by the book. Workman's Comp is absolutely insane! The insurance audits are sure to tick you off as well. I don't think I have to mention the taxes

I'm retired from the previous business I owned, that had 22 employees. I'm 62 years old now. I've done it all by the books Sweet Pea. Payroll all regulations, the works. I started this new small business last year, due to Obama's lack of expertise in running our Country, and me realizing I needed to take better care for my own future.

Obama is a loose cannon with our economy....I've paid into SS my whole life, can't afford to take early retirement.....so I do what I do well. Start a business, and make money with it. Hopefully after Romney wins, I'll keep expanding, being able to make new jobs for others. It's called free enterprise...not socialism...

Obama's oil comments of being up !

Oil and gas companies are tapping only about 28 percent of federal sea floor they have leased and 56 percent of the onshore land they’ve leased is also sitting idle, the Interior Department said Tuesday.

.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn, R-Colorado, and his Republican colleagues have aggressively pushed for more federal lands to be opened to oil and gas drilling and for continued oil shale research. The Interior has resisted those efforts, recently scaling back the amount of acreage available to oil shale development.

This was dated in May

This is what Romney was likely to be citing:

Under Obama, Oil and Gas Production on Federal Lands Is Down 40%

Seems Obama was truthfully challenged tonite.

I'm not going to go into that. In the Official LDS church (not the fundamentalists) women are treated with respect. But the church is patriarchal.

So with a ringer asking the question in a room full of people that CNN admits voted for Obama in 2008 the best Obama can really claim was a draw in this debate?

I don't know if that should be called sad or pathetic.

This is how spinmaster double talkers are able to say things without being completely clear. I wonder if Slick Willy coached him before that Rose Garden appearance. I think it shows he knew it was a terrorist attack and still wanted to pin it on the video. But he left it open just in case anyone wanted to challenge him.

Obama deflected that one too !!

He appeared very very nervous and attempted to divert and include private land numbers.

Obama tried hard tonight but wasn't good enough to fool the average voter.

People are on to the gag.

Biden would have done better.

Obama can't put 2+2 together without pre-written help (teleprompters)

At least Obama made it up to high school level with all the cramming and coaching.

Thing is, Code Pink is pretty hard liberal.
Obama is a moderate conservative democrat.

So, They may not want Obama as POTUS..however, if this is true (the code pink thing), then she is hardly the independent that would fit into the target audience here. They aren't going to get Kuchenic in. Bit like a Santorum fan saying he is independent because nobody is super hard right enough.

Anyhow, who gives a crap about the audience..they were question monkeys...you literally could have used monkeys instead of people actually if they were able to speak..there was no clapping, laughing, booing, etc...it was simple questions for both of them.

It's official now, the moderator let Obama have 10% more time than Romney. I thought so as I watched the debate. Even my normally apolitical husband commented on how biased the moderator was in favor of Obama and how she cut Romney short in favor of Obama.

Anyway:
Zing on the president caught lying about what he told the American people about Bengazi.
Zing on the presidents investments in China and companies that outsource when he constantly harps on Romney for it.
Zing on how crappy the last 4 years have been when Obama had complete control the first 2 with a super majority in congress.

In my opinion, Romney won despite a hot tempered and white knuckled president and a biased moderator.
