Obama crushed Romney tonight.

I am disappointed there was no question on gay marriage.

That would have put a bigger dent in Romney's wagon.

Because gay marriage is.such an.important.issue

Ann Romney looks embarrassed.

And they didn't even talk afterwards.

I'll get flamed for this, but Romney was a fail and Obama hit it out of the park, for the most part.

So....who is watching? What are you expecting? Considering the two parties have decided to have the moderator, Candy Crowley muzzled, it should be nothing more than a circus act.

The audience will get to ask a pre-determined question and then their microphone will be shut off. If the candidates side-step or go off topic, the moderator is not going to be allowed to reaffirm or re-ask the question.

Why bother?

I hope to keep this thread alive throughout the day to get people's opinion before and then discussion during and after the debate to see how many of us called the scene.

I think it's another dog and pony show. If an audience member asks "What do you think about rising gas prices?", the candidates can say "Well I think we should consider harvesting natural resources from the moon" and no one will be able to call them back to the actual question...pretty pointless.

My prediction? I'd say, for the interest of keeping this joke (the debate and election) appear to be legitimate...Obama will be scripted in for the win...the third debate will be a draw....that way this appears to be "a close race".

Just my very jaded opinion of this demonstration...a total farce.

I want to hear everyone else's expectations though.

The debate just ended and I am so glad that Obama mentioned the 47%

I think this debate should keep Chris Mathews happy over at MSNBC !

Obama also caught and embarrassed Romney when he stated Benghazi incident was "terror" right off the bat . Were as Romney said Obama was not aware that it was such.. Incredible point there I think ! it threw Romney off for a loop.

The debate was neck and neck.

I have Romney at 51% and Obama 49%.

It wasn't an ASS kicking like the last one.

Obama stuck to his usual talking points and made some really BIZARRE statements and spun from some.

Romney was direct and had answers but interrupted and bullied the moderator a bit.

My mind surely wasn't made up. If you watched the debates Obama clearly won. I admit he lost the first one and sucked...but this one he owned Romney so hard...so many "zingers", Romney gave weak answers, and killed himself with the Libya comment.

Didn't Obama blame the video at the UN a week after the attack?

He spoke about the video in relation to the Egypt protests, which is exactly what those protests were about.

Oh thanks because I remember him blaming the video. I also remember him mentioning protest that escalated into the attack and State put that lie to rest last week in testimony before the House. Thanks for setting me straight

I am going to call this debate a draw with a slight edge towards Romney and a "much improved" award mention for Obama over his last appearance.

I get worried about any potus or potential potus when they discuss trade.

Unless it is a equal nation, trade only harms the richer nation...and at this moment, we can't deal with that and remain stable.

If they were suggesting free open trade to places like the UK, France, Germany, etc...I would be all for it. However, it almost never is..its usually just opening more slave pens in 3rd world nations for corporatists to abuse and have our jobs fly away.

I am now so jaded against our trade policy that the moment anyone says trade, I immediately want to have them forcibly removed from any power that can promote outsourcing even more. We need almost an anti-trade potus now...someone that will buck the corporatists demands to sell off the heart of american manufacturing.

I'm in Vancouver and cost here is high. A 12 pack of domestic beer will run you about 22 dollars and my 1 bedroom apartment 500 sqft 1200. Cheaper anywhere else except NWT

as long as the Apples,Nike's, reebox, levi's etc. can go out to the far east and make their products with pennies on the dollar, YOU WILL NOT!!

create American, jobs in the USA....

If Its not China, it will be Taiwan, the Philippines or hell even African countries ... Wherever the ship can anchor into port.

If Americans, were to manufacture ipads and ipods apple would charge thousands of dollars... Remember the 80's get an example...

This world economy will not get fixed in 4 years... Talking about manufacturing, what will we manufacture? Our biggest export is Automobiles, and that is just barely recovering.. Almost everything Americans, used to manufacture lost their jobs to NAFTA, and the NEW World Economy... Most jobs Americans, have is in the Service industry...

The people of the world come to America, to retire, and live the American, dream... Already RICH...

the days of pensions, after 20 years that your Grandpa or even father has is GONE.....

Both of these guys are out of touch and as usual promising Utopia's..

Liberals promising their agenda, to stay in power and $$$$

and Conservatives promising their Agenda, to get the trophy back...

POTUS..

Anyhow...

In my opinion, it was just artificial... For the middle class that is...

POTUS wins the closing segment ...

taking on the 47% deal by Romney...

Good finish but not quite enough to retake the lead..

Overall, I lean towards Romney taking this one, based on delivery...

as always.. YMMV.. just my opinion.. on to next weeks debate, and don't forget the 3rd party debate on the 23rd...

Thanks everyone for this conversation.. you guys and gals are a blast

I'm not sure what you mean by that. But for your average American (not a criminal) its quite difficult. Not sure how it works for people who are in the criminal industry.

Rather obvious of what I meant and what Obama meant same grand idealism offering no real solutions but more of the same.
