I've seen extensive research on this date in the past, and the general consensus is that Jesus was born on April 17. On what research are you relying?

Regarding to lunar calender. It is totally different with solar calendar.

I can not tell you much about it. You better do some investigations yourself.

But I will try to help you understand the difference.

To Mideast

Peace and Thanks for that information.

I wanted to prepare you for ridicule from the Christian community for most of my fellow Christians do not understand who the twelfth imam really is.

For a Christian that understanding can be found only through an intensive study of the NT book of revelation. And if a person studies all three books from God he could understand wither the Shia or the Sunni factions of Islam are right. I also am waiting for the coming of the 12t/h imam that will bring peace love and justice to earth. Peace will be with him and he, with the other chosen will rule the earth with a rod of iron.

He will tell the Jew, Christian and Muslims to love one another for there is truly only one God and no matter what we call him All His names are beautiful.

I pray that the whole world would hear understand and obey the truths found in the Bible and the Quoran. And this the twelfth Imam will do.

Thanks Brother

May the Peace of God go with you always.

BrBen

Hi Mideast! Thanks but I was actually trying to help you understand the difference. It is accepted the date of Jesus' birth is April 17. Google "Jesus born April 17", and it will lead you to a wealth of information. Much of it basded on the "star" that led the wise men to the birthplace. Astronomers (not astrologers) tracked the star that reportedly shone so brightly that night to April 17. They identified the star, tracked it, and so on.

There are also other indicators in conjunction with the star. Please research.

Thanks and have a good day.

Also Mideast, please understand that Christians believe that no man knows the date or time of Jesus' return, not even the "Angels in Heaven".

Many, many have made conjectures as you have, and many, many, have been wrong.

It is not ours to know.

I opened your thread hoping to learn something new, but you didnt even try to teach anybody anything.
You hide behind faith like its a bullet proof vest.

'There is no god higher than truth'
Gandhi said this and it rings true today as it did yesterday. If you are going to make extraordinary claims, you must provide extraordinary evidence.

You may use your faith as the yardstick for what you THINK may be the truth, but please never ever ever ever allow yourself to think it can replace evidence and study and research in an adult conversation.

From my religious studies days I recall that Jesus WAS born in Oct. I don't know if you can pin down the exact date though. Secondly the early church integrated Christ's birth with the festival of Saturnalia. Thus in Dec. The point is moot though as Jesus never said anything about celebrating his birth. His death is a different story.

There are some predictions and I just said might s it is told in Islam.

I was aware of what I was saying

And the main purpose of this thread was to celebrate Jesus and Ibrahim (pbut) birth.

I thought it was too hard for me to translate some thing a little complicated.

A lunar year is about 10-11 days shorter than the solar year.

according best source I could find on the internet ,

Solar year is 365.2422 days long

Lunar year is 354.367 days long

That is why we have like circling lunar days every year on our solar year.

and that means , when we have a solar years which indicated the seasons , we also have a lunar year which indicates the anniversary of religious events and occasions.

And according to our religious calender tonight is the night they were born.

I hope I could help you understand.

I think now you can understand why there is difference in our calender , but it must have been the same day.

Tonight is the night of 25th of Zelghade. ذی القعده

and zelghade is a lunar month.

Please do more research and you will find out better.

My Dear Intrepid. Studies and research have changed, and opinions have changed. I too remember when it was thought to be in October, but the newer studies are more compelling. Please take a second to become updated on the most recent information. I think you will find it is fairly scientific. It's not a long search. Just google "Jesus born April 17".

Possible. Jesus was born in the rainy season. That's Oct. to May. The thing is, why does it matter? It didn't to Christ.
