I think that the "Reichstags fire" had the same impact on German population in 1933. It fueled, driven by propaganda, the rise of the fascism and the nationalsocialism in Germany leading to the Third Reich with Adolf Hitler.

Today it is considered a false flag operation even by respected historians.
I hope that this kind of thinking will be allowed to do in a professional surrounding with 9/11 some day, too.

Nowadays it is as impossible like it was impossible to say so in 1933!
