The European Union in theory is suppose to create a unified Europe. Now of the news that many european countries are contracting with each other militarily (sharing ideas) and economically. We know France is feverishly trying to be a world player once again (by going against the U.S. on the Iraqi war, and now foraging friendships with our untrustwory friend, the Russians)shouldn't this be seen as a threat to the U.S. power in the world?

and if so, how do you believe the U.S. should respond to this threat? This will only spur a new arms race, and as far as we know the U.S. is already back into Nuke production.

If they end up creating a better system of government/life/liberty how is it a threat?
If it works out, maybe the US should join the EU.

quango - The EU is no different than the UN, the only difference is that you have two forces now.

So close to uniting but then so far away.

I have to hand it to France. Their own cockiness is going to get them into troube!

The US wont take this lying down. Its going to get ugly.

US made what France is today. Maybe it doesn't seem like it, but why do you think a Prime Minster is more powerful than a queen or king.

Those are good. But im talking more along of the lines of military collaboration (mostly refferring to the French, Germans, and Russians) who now have a magical new friendship based on the fact that they all opposed the war. (for their own interests)

Im just concerned that there combining of resources militarily will distabalized the the balance of power and spur another cold war or world war.
