Magician David Blaine has completed his most electrifying stunt yet after spending three whole days standing in the middle of a million volts of electricity.

The 39-year-old endurance artist emerged unharmed from the ball of electricity last night after having volts conducted around his body for 72 hours.

The illusionist stepped out on to a 20 foot pillar on Friday night dressed in a specially made a chain mail bodysuit, a wire helmet and visor as his only barrier to electric currents being streamed towards his body through tesla coils at New York's Pier 54.

With todays soaring energy prices, is it really wise to allow stuff like this?

The guy was never in any danger thanks to his suit, at best it was an endurance test.

His chain mail suit weighed a hefty 27 pounds and was designed to allow the fierce currents to dance over his body, without ever touching his skin.

So what exactly is magical about all this?

If you're going to wasted money and power with Tesla coil stunts, at least make it interesting and cool:

He was in a Faraday cage. He was never in any danger. At all.

Ah yes. David Blaine. (In)Famous for his pointless and underwhelming public stunts. All this stunt proves is that he can stand up straight for 72 hours at end (something I won't be able to do). But hardly entertaining seeing that the 1,000,000 volts are irrelevant under these circumstances. Yawn. David should rather stick to street magic. Much more entertaining than these stunts (for lack of better word).
