oh no cajunboy, Thibodaux, really ??
well, all i can suggest is prepare for the worst.
i really don't think i was tuned in to you, specifically, but, maybe i was
of all the communities in that area, those were the only 2 that gave me such a harsh chill.
i know it's never easy leaving 'home' but i sure hope you are
seriously considering it.
especially if there is active bubbling in the area.
Lake Verret is still teaming with life, when I get a chance I will post a picture of a huge 200+ lb fish caught last week.
sweeeet,
looking forward to that pic. kinda scares me though.
a 200lb fish is more than double me (98lbs)
although, i gotta wonder if the disappearing pond i saw in the news is a precursor for what could happen at Lk Verret. it's not like it hasn't
happened before.
@
AuntB - Morgan City is south of the sinkhole and the 'major' city south of the bayou that directly connects to the GOM.
does anyone know the direction where this recent slough occurred ?
my gut says it was to the south/SW but i'm only guessing.
@
Olivine - you are simply outstanding !!! Thank You
wow, am i the only one noticing the amount of water that seems to have disappeared with them ?
on the 3rd still, can you identify (at least try) the disruption on the surface water INSIDE the boom ? (right side of the pic)
it doesn't look like wave action, but maybe some debris that was churned up or something ?
fyi, reportedly, someone from the Parrish forwarded video to our local news, BayNews9 and they played about 15 seconds or so, so i did get to see the
trees sink and wow, what a catch.
it appears Mr Boudreaux seems to be at the right place, at the right time to get some real answers to questions on everyone's mind
way to go, Mr Boudreaux !!
where can i send that man a new spool of line so we can get a relative depth reading ????
side note -- 2 new sinkholes opened up in W-central FL today.
luckily, no lives lost or property damage reported but one emptied a pond and the last time i heard anything about the second one, news crews were on
their way to the scene.

a few doors away, code enforcement has forced neighbors out of their home due to a potential sinkhole developing. their backyard connects to what
we've always called a 'ditch' but it seems some ground movement has been detected and their home is visibly sinking so they've been told to move out
ETA -- wow you guys, that's a lot of videos ... i'm gonna have to commandeer a neighbor's computer this weekend so i can watch them
... thank
you to everyone and please stay safe out there.
