Reason i am asking this question is that i have ha two U2U's trying to get me to vote for someone in the forthcoming US elections.

The most obvious answer is no: simply cos im a UK citizen, US politics has little interest for me short of George Bush trying to start WWIII.

Then it hit me: here in the UK there is a high level of apathy that has grown up surrounding politics simply because many people feel that any choiceof our leadership is a bad one so people cant decide or simply cant be bothered to choose.

I was wondering if the lack of responce to the 3000 or so people like me who have recieved this mass U2U-mail is like me: dont give a flyink feck and indeed why?

Over to you.

I don't see why you would not care. You live in the UK. US politics do affect you somewhat.

For all of those American citizens who don't vote, think about this. There are thousands of people who die everyday around the world because they want "political freedoms''. In the U.S. of A. we have them handed to us. How can you be so lazy that you don't walk to the corner to drop your vote? Are you kidding me?!

Live in the Middle East for a year, complain about you President. See where that gets you. In most cases it will be DEAD.

Do it in the states. People listen to you.

I voted here, and I'll be voting on November 2 as well.

I think I agree with you, but for a different reason. I'm really not so sure that it matters who is president of the United States to me any more than it does you.

I'm getting into secret government/black projects/alien conspiracy stuff a lot right now, which I will concentrate on most here after the election is over, but now more than ever, I feel like what we see in politics is nothing more than an illusion.

I do know for sure that what the average American actually knows about even the illusion is minimal. It would only make sense that the way the world turns has little to do with what we see on a daily basis, even if we could keep track of it all for ourselves.

I have decided to vote for neither the Democratic candidate nor the Republican incumbent, because I think voting my concious now could be beneficial for us in the 2008 election. I'm writing in McCain.
