This caught my attention,as here in South Africa where i live,this whole valley is the caldera of a huge "dead" volcano ( :-) sorry that sounds stupid,bt the correct term slips my mind now.) I have had,for more than a year,occasionaly a very shrill electronic whine,in both ears,the first time i flinched,it felt like it went right through my brain,almost painful.There is the more frequent one too,which is a ringing in one ear at a time,thats bn picking up lately.I hear oscillating+buzzing sounds too,sometimes instead of ringing.In my case i dont think it has to do with lava flow as such,as there has never bn the slightest indication this volcano is awakening,but there Is a lot of deep underground activity here,we live on a small goldmine,one owned by the company that also owns one of the oldest producing goldmines in the world,Sheba mine,few miles up the road.Thing is,ive lived here for almost nine years,and only started getting my ear thing bt 16 months ago,to such an extent that ive Realy started noticing it.This has been an insanely active year for me,as regards to my connection with the metaphysical/spiritual realm,so i do think think it may be due to a mixture of factors.Im not knocking the lava theory,just,it could be a combination of things causing it,physical and non-physical.

Yes, to answer your question, yes. I have noticed that I have been hearing that sound out of one ear. It comes out of no where. I have been at home, office, or just driving and it comes and goes. I read once that it is a sign your mind is trying to align with the world.

All I will say now is that something is happening.

I say this because it seems that everyone I talk to "Just Feels" that something is happening.

Something is "Different".

Something is "Strange".

"Something"...

You know, I don't normally bother with these types of threads because hysteria breeds hysteria.

However, this past week my sleep has been all screwed up. I'll be bone-tired and hit the pillow, and fifteen minutes to a half hour later, I'll wake myself up by thrashing around like a maniac. That would go on for a few hours, and I would eventually fall asleep, have terrible dreams that I couldn't remember. Then I would be awake for good between four and five a.m.

At first, I was sure that my epilepsy was the culprit and I was just having a lot of seizures (which do go in cycles). Needless to say, with the lack of sleep, that just makes the epilepsy situation much worse. Not to mention I've been downright miserable, like any other sleep-deprived person would be.

Tonight, though, I had such an awful dream that I woke up screaming. I had been thrashing around so badly that I managed to knock my shoulder out of the socket. (It happens pretty often due to a childhood injury, so I'm pretty good at getting it back into place.) The dream centered around Antarctica, specifically Lake Vostok for whatever reason. Somebody found all these lost transmissions from those five days that nobody could get ahold of the Russian drilling team, and they were a mess of screaming, clanging metal, multiple series of numbers, and the UVB-76 buzzing. Then the whole thing turned into an H.P. Lovecraft story gone horribly wrong, if such a thing is even possible.

That's why I'm up typing this at four in the morning. There's no way I'm going back to sleep after all that.

I have had a sense of unease for the past week or two, but I figured it was lack of sleep and epilepsy. That, and three different wars are trying to start (China and Japan; Israel and Iran; Turkey and Syria), so perhaps there's a collective unease that a lot of us are feeling. Or maybe it's something else completely, and that's probably the scariest possibility of all.

The sounds abruptly began after an out-of-body experience I had almost a year ago. It's been constant ever since and increases in loudness/intensity quite often which is really a trip for me because I can clearly hear it above the pounding surf that goes on 24/7 here at the house. And, as with many of you, it seems to be worse as of late.
I can't say that it drives me crazy because I'm truly captivated by it and am interested in reading what others have to say as to what could be the cause. Oh yeah, when in bed, I can concentrate on it and sometimes will hear a faint clicking noise too. Click click.........click..........click click click............click.....etc., but only in my left ear and not all the time. Weird.
For me personally, I don't believe it's tinnitus because it's in both ears (tinnitus is usually in one ear) and I don't have hearing loss (tested yearly). I have not seen an MD for it and I'm likely not to.
Mine sounds like ciccadas in the trees... some or most of you may know what I mean. It's maybe not as harsh, kind of a "softer" sound, like a loud "HISSSSSSS", but at about the same pitch, or as one poster mentioned, sand flowing through an hourglass but multiply that sound a hundredfold.
The occasional very high pitch that many of the posters have reported having intermittently is also something I experience probably once every other day on average. A few weeks ago, I encountered a very low, bass-like hum in my right ear as well. Now that was an awakener!!! Never experienced that before or since.
To put icing on the cake, I was sitting at the computer a few months ago when all of a sudden, there was a "line" (for lack of a better term) about 3 cm wide, iridescent, and semi-transparent that I could see going down the page, vertically.
I was mesmerized by it. I kept reading from left to right and the "line" followed to the right and would return to the center when I began a new line. After a while, it remained to the right and I tried to "look" at it... it was almost like a bunch of crystals, stacked one upon the other, vertically in the right edge of my right eye. I kept scrutinizing it trying to figure out what the heck it could be. It was just beautiful. Iridescent crystals of blue/pink/yellow glimmering in my field of vision. Just awesome. This all lasted about 3 or 4 minutes and then it just disappeared.
I guess it has nothing to do with the OP but I felt compelled to throw it in. My gut feeling tells me that it wasn't a physical thing, but a spiritual one.
In closing, I'm happy to share that this new experience is actually ok with me, it beats my constant back pain by a longshot!!
I sincerely hope it's related to an elevated sense of being in tune with what's going on with the planet this year....

i too have seen the lights,looks like a kites tail. The first time it happened I was sitting on the couch,could see it with peripheral vision only,when I move my eyes it moves. Close one eye,stays in the other,vice versa. It always lasts Exactly 30 mins. The last time there was a lot more detail,filled more of my vision. This has been happening for 4 yrs.

I know I'm new to posting and this is my first time..(been a watcher) But the ear thing has gotten my attention. I recently had shingles in my ear causing me to suffer from bells palsey which seems to still aile me. A few weeks after the shingles went away, the ringing started. In fact I'm up at 3am (now 4am) listening to it. Weird thing is it started off extremely loud. I thought it was a tv or something electronic on. Then I realized it was me. I only hear it at night when it's quiet and it sounds like high pitch sounds going up and down. The weird thing most recently is I just took my 7 year old to the doctor complaining about her ear. She says it hurts and there's a noise. When the doctor looked at it - he said her ear looked perfect and considered it middle ear pressure. Told her to try to pop it by blowing air through it by holding her noise... I have seen her do this a lot. She says it pops but still returns. From what I know pressure usually goes away after sometime. It's just odd. My ear problem could easily be dismissed as tinnitus. As I still have ear aches and the noise is constant at night. But seeing how everyone here has something, and thinking about my daughters situation... It's just a little ---- weird.

I can say that I too have been having the "ringing" in my left ear mostly.
I have no problems with my ears and have had them checked.
The tone can be very deep if that makes sence? It starts of very load
And then gets really deep! On other occasions I have felt dizzy or of balance.
The majority of these episodes happen in the evening and more recently over the
Past month or so!
I have that awful dread feeling something big is coming/going to happen.
And as another member pointed out I feel much more calmer within a more natural
Environment than within an area populated with buildings and people.

I keep getting the urge to pack my little family up and run for the hills away from everyone!!

The ringing in the ears has my attention. Yes I have it and it is crystal clear high pitch eeeeee or zinging sound that has seemed louder for a good while now. Very hard to describe but its in both ears and my head and it is with me always although day to day life allows me to not focus on it too much or too often. Its damned annoying thats for sure but it's never got in the way of a normal life. Thing is I have had it since I was a child, I always thought Tinitus but never had it checked or even mentioned it to anyone until now. I had a wierd theory that it was something to do with having metal fillings put in my teeth when I was a kid and it picking up some frequency or the like! The last couple of years or so I have also had the short tone like noises in one ear or the other, never together, that lasts for seconds and then goes away completely. I have always wondered what the hell it really is.

I sound like a fruitcake reading this back, but thought I would share incase others also had this. I'm in the UK so I'm not near any volcanos and the like.

Its the bayou corne sinkhole its growing, and now residents are feeling tremors within 45 miles of the sinkhole. It lies
right on the new madrid fault line.

Could this "ear-ringing" be due to some testing of a sonic weapon?

Something bad is coming, but who knows what. Brings me back to late July when the movie shooting happened, I had a dream that I was walking and someone was shooting up my local theatre, then began shooting people in the street. Was the "happy ending" before or after you "managed to ward him off with your stepdad's handgun"? Did it involve the shooter?

I have the ear ringing too. And see the spots once in a while.

If put my fingers in my ears, the ringing stops..

Does it stop for you guys if you put your fingers in your ears?

Ummm...........Why Wrabbit, why.............Why did you have to bring up that annoying high frequency noise. I was quite happy having it on...ignore, but you just had to bring it back, didn't you. Anyway, yes i'm a sufferer as well, and no It's not a tinnitus ring it's much higher in pitch almost on the edge of hearing it's so high and sometimes damn loud.

You know, there are reports that some people can hear a sound before an earthquake, it makes me wonder if a caldera might make some sort of high frequency sound before it lit off. I guess you all know that I'm refering to the overdue Yellowstone caldera.........Just speculating, but I'm wondering if it might put out high frequency waves as the pressure builds...........I'll go get a towel now...just in case I'm all wet with that theory.

Err, maybe it has something to do with this site, ya know, subliminals repeating over and over, you will hear this tone, you will hear this tone........just kidding...right?

Just barely started researching high pitched sounds associated with disasters and came across this already. I'd like to note that I am not hearing the sound so someone will have to let me know if these sounds match the sounds heard by the rest of you.

Not for me. I can plug my ears up completely and still can hear it, though not as intensely. It "feels" to me to be coming from within...even though the noise is definitely noticeable, it's not THAT loud so if I plug my ears tightly, I think I wouldn't be able to hear it at all, yet I still do.
That's why I think it's from within rather than a noise coming in through your ears that's generated by the radio, a child laughing, a car engine, etc.
We're totally connected to earth, the heavens and everything that's around us, so I'm thinking that some of us are becoming more sensitive to pass-through energies while others have already been for many years. Maybe those pass-throughs are causing an increased rushing of blood through the vessels in and around our auditory system for some reason.
Somehow, I think we're a long way from explaining with certainty where it comes from and why we're all of a sudden becoming in tune with it.

I've had that all my life I thought it was just sinuses draining or similar to ears popping when changing elevation cause I could always hear better afterwards. Never connected to a warning sign to danger

Ok- i have had this constant ringing (high pitched sound) in my head & ears that puts pressure on my neck & shoulders for months now. Thinking it may be due to a car accident from several years ago but been to numerous docs, had MRI's etc and it has only intensified in frequency over time. It does not go away. I get migranes with it too. My question is- does anyone know how to get rid of it?? Its Very Bothersome!

To further comments regarding convoys. An older lady at work the other day mentioned stopping on a major highway for a massive convoy of FedEx trucks escorted by a lot of police cars. She stated that there were many more than thirty. Based on where she was she said they were heading into Saint Paul, MN, the capitol. Must have been some pretty special cargo to warrant police escort, so many trucks and shutting down of a major freeway.

I too, feel there is something imminent. However I have had this feeling for a very long time and think I have become desensitized to it. Or perhaps past events have all been a part of what I feel is about to happen.

Odd thing here. As I was reading this thread, I got a ringing in my right ear. It has been happening off and on for a few months or so. Maybe longer. Now I read others have had it happening in their right ear as well. Certainly odd.
