Here is a report posted in xinhuanet dated October 3 , 2012 . According to the report , pro-Palestinian activists are seeking to breach the maritime blockade that Israel imposes on the Gaza Strip .Israeli Navy is planning to intercept the ship .

European organizers of the "flotilla" on Tuesday issued a press release saying they had obtained clearance from authorities in La Spezia, Italy, to set sail and will reach the coastal enclave in two weeks. Some 15 activists will be aboard the Swedish-flagged Estelle, which initially set sail in June and has since anchored at several European ports to gather support and publicity, according to the report. Israeli-born Dror Feiler, a radical anti-Israeli activist, is expected to be among the passengers of the Estelle, the Jerusalem Post said. "We're strictly a non-violent initiative. We're not financed by any state or rich donor, but funded by the sweat, love and tears of ordinary Swedes from all walks of life," the daily quoted Mattias Gardell, a spokesperson for the group, as saying. "We hope that the Israeli military, if they could have a choice, they wouldn't do anything when we come towards Gaza. We're not threatening the Israeli military," he added.

These moves, by various parties, are eeirily like move and counter move in a huge chess game....
No wonder the "grand Chessboard" term was coined.......
It seems like with all these differing moves and counter moves, that inevitably violent conflict in the middle east WILL break out.
Honest efforts towards peace, mutual respect, a willingness to negotiate and meet opposite parties on middle ground is NOT forthcomming from ANY party. Its all shot through with self interests.
The adament refusals of all to bend even slightly to others obvious presence, and human rights, are going to eventually
lead to conflict regardless of any attempts at sanity.
Those who actively work for a peaceful co-existance, seem pitifully few and relatively powerless to stop the drift to war.
It is these constant confornatational situations set up by various interests that, deliberately, or not, will eventually spark the inevitable.
Whether they are a conserted effort by malignant forces or simply the clamour of the multifactions diversity, i cannot say.
But it reads like an equation, the answer to which is almost certainly violent conflict of an extremely devastating nature.for ALL parties.
There will be no war fought there, that will not include most of the countries of the area in collateral damage of some proportions....which mostly,.........the people will bear.
Its looking like water going down a drain over there...everything is getting more complicated, and less likely of solutions other than armed conflict.one that will drag nearly every state in.

I guess there was just not enough tension in the area so the Swedes decided to provoke Israel.

I am not saying who is right or wrong here, just saying that this region is a tinder box. We do not need any more fuel throw into the mix.

Gotta love that headline and the selection of the word "bracing". What are they "bracing" against - hugs? Smiles? Flowers?

The antisemites who will criticize Israel to no end for the blockade and anything else they can. They will essentially say it's all Israel's fault etc....

The same old crap, just a different day.

so criticizing a country gets you labeled as an anti-semite? I thought it had something to do with selective targeting based on religion.

Freudian-slip much?

There's already plenty of fuel in the mix, what we don't need is people throwing matches in.
