After putting some thought into it. An interesting point to make about Phobos is that is revolves the opposite direction around Mars as the other moon, Deimos. Phobos is no more than a tiny dot in the martian sky. Its so close to the planet that it cannot be seen above the horizon in all points on the martian surface.

Our moons apparent magnitude is between -2.7 to -12.7 (roughly) Phobos has an apparent magnitude of 11.3

How the hell did Curiosity manage to take a picture of this thing??
