The New College Thing “Alcohol Enema’s” ?????

When Alexander "Xander" Broughton, 20, was delivered to the hospital after midnight on Sept. 22, his blood alcohol level was measured at 0.448 percent — nearly six times the intoxication that defines drunken driving in the state. Injuries to his rectum led hospital officials to fear he had been sodomized.

Police documents show that when an officer interviewed a fellow fraternity member about what happened, the student said the injuries had been caused by an alcohol enema.

"It is believed that members of the fraternity were utilizing rubber tubing inserted into their rectums as a conduit for alcohol," according to a police report.

"He also had no recollection of losing control of his bowels and defecating on himself," according to a university police report that includes photos of the mess left behind in the fraternity house after the party.

Broughton did not respond to a cellphone message seeking comment on Friday.

I have never heard of this. It sounds like a scene from a National Lampoon Van Wilder movie. We used to have beer bongs and do handstand keggers but this is just over the top. This kids parents must be so proud. From the sounds of it he is probably the BUTT of many jokes on campus.

By cutting out the middle man (Liver) the alcohol will go straight into the blood stream via the millions of nerves in the anus, so if you're that desperate to get drunk then you're onto a winner, however it's bloody stupid and dangerous. Not new ... I've heard of this many years ago.. but it's new that it's sort of becoming a trend.. I don't think it's catching on that much though, I think i's news looking for crap to report..

The reality of this, and just use your imagination.. it would be EXTREMELY painful .. and just not worth it... I can't see it becoming the next big thing..

It's idiots asserting peer pressure over other idiots. The desire to fit in with a particular group overwhelms common sense. Also I've noticed in a lot of cases young people are acting like teenagers well into their twenties (not all, but a lot). As most of us are aware teenagers are not always the sharpest crayons in the box when it comes to interacting with peer groups. I see this kind of behavior as an extension of that.
