"victims" who believe they are "entitled" to health care, food and housing.

You see this is the thing for me, people should be entitled to basic food, shelter and healthcare. As human beings we should strive to make this reality for every person on the planet. And i lean right by the way before you start shouting that i'm a liberal.

My older neighbors were "on the fence" as regards who to vote for. On the day the 47% video was released, they made their decision. (They are living on THEIR Social Security and depend on Medicare for their health care.)

At the gym the next day, I overheard some older men talking about how they'd made up their minds - they joked around about how they were the 47%. "Moochers", they joked.

Mitt should have said 27% and not lumped the whole lot of Obama supporters into that number. They might just be stupid anyway.

For those who haven't looked further than the words from Mitt's lips or FOX news, Who Are the 47%?

Of the 47%, over half of them pay payroll tax.
10% are elderly, on Social Security, etc. (after having worked and paid into it all their lives)
7% make under $20,000 a year
Which means there is LESS THAN 1% in the "other" category, which includes disabled vets, students and yes, a tiny portion, who abuse the system. (Kind of like Romney abuses the system by hiding his money in foreign bank accounts so he doesn't have to pay all the taxes he owes. HE is one of the moochers.
)

If you and Romney still want to make the claim that the 47% are moochers, slackers and lazy, then you will definitely get what you deserve.

If you don't think Mitt has (or had) supporters in EVERY group, you are mistaken. He had high support from the elderly, the military and lower income white people, UNTIL he threw them ALL under the bus.

Those that were unable to handle the truth that Romney is out of touch with anything outside his elite conservative circle will continue to vote for him. The rest of us will switch our votes to someone else.

Thats fine but for me the most telling and out of touch comment made in the last few years was the "cling to guns and the bible" comment. Ignorant! But its ok to support anyone that clings to gun and Koran? Or a gun and a communist manifesto?

UH DUH!

Good Lord his stupidity is unabashing.

and this reflects directly on his intelligence...he should have been able to figure out that not all people had the privledges of being born into a wealthy family, the fact that he refuses to acknowledge this, shows his intellectual level of understanding is quite low. couple that with the fact, that he has shown throughout his life that he DOES NOT have empathy for others less fortunate, disqualifies him from being president.
he spoke candidly, in his own words, about how he feels about 47% of the american people. he shouldn't be elected, period

There are far more that 10% on ADC.

AND you neglect the fact that you can be a non elderly recipiant of some form of SSI ect and still work! So they work and pay tax yet are still subsidized by some form of aid!

So they pay tax but it doesnt come near to covering thier payout. But I am spozed to take some confort in that fact? Its call a delusion.

It's all rather a bit short sighted, wealth re-distribution is good for the economy. You take away the tax allowances and welfare from the poorest people, then less money will be spent in the economy leading to a downturn in production. Needless to say the increase in crime and the social and financial cost that brings with it. Obama is the only electable candidate in my very own British opinion.

The fact that Mitt was "born" into money doesnt mean that others then have a 'right" to public money. Your inablity to understand this is why you will vote for Obama and may just be a refelection of intelligence.

yes, wealth distribution does have practical realites that some dont want to face. Like large armies of hungry folks rioting, looting, robbing. Children being exploited large scale. The truth is that modern day capitalisim is in fact a subsidized affair. Farmers, of all things, are greatly subsidized and bailed out on a regular basis to keep food production stable.

Those that vote for Romney are voting to make life more difficult for societies most vulnerable and it's a hard enough life as it is. I bet you get a nice warm fuzzy feeling when you vote for this idiot safe in the knowledge that your taxes will be slightly lower meaning you can afford another Big Mac.

First of all, the 10% were the ELDERLY, not those on ADC (Aid to Dependent Children).
Secondly, I didn't mention ADC at all, in fact.

No, I didn't. Those people would be in the 28.3 % who pay payroll taxes OR in the Under $20,000 crowd.

My advice? Take a moment to be sure you're not going to post something totally irrelevant and incorrect before you hit the "reply" button.

Well if you think about it, folks that paied into a retirement program for years shouldnt be offended by what Mitt said. He really wasnt talking to them. He was talking to say irresponsible women and men that have children out of wedlock and allow thier fellows to pick up the tab for raising them for 20 years.

So whats your sollution? Cut them off and let the innocent children suffer? It wasn't the childs fault that they were born to irresponsible parents.

But he WAS talking about them. What are you talking about? They are in the 47% who didn't pay income tax. I would be HIGHLY offended!

Then he shouldn't have included the elderly, disabled vets, students and the poorest of our society.

What are you telling yourself to make this 47% statement OK? You spoke early of delusion. Don't YOU be deluded by party affiliation or some false sense of loyalty. This man IS the 1% and will only work for him and his friends.

You still fail to show how having a job, paying tax and still getting aid is a really making some sort of contribution. Those working and paying tax and yet getting some form of aid shouldnt be counted as real tax payers anyway.

In fact you may not belieev this but just a few weeks ago at work I heard someone on SSI complain about the amount of tax they had to pay! What are you thinking trying to defend this victim mentality?

He didnt mean disabled vets......they are now being used by his foes as political fodder though.

There are a large group that are not elderly, disabled or worse case that drain the system and have ideas of being victims. I hear and se it all the time.

Yes I agree, Romney will definitely be the loser in this year's presidential race and for a whole host of reasons. This 47% comment was IMO, just the icing on the cake. But truth be told, what Romney said, the rest of the TP/GOP agrees with and therein lies the real nuts of the problem facing today's republican party. Same is true for statements recently made by other republicans like Todd Akin, Alan West, Tom Smith, Rick Santorum, Eric Cantor, etc...etc...etc...

You can't go out there and attempt to promote an ideology that sounds like it came from "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" and expect to win approval from the american electorate. It's just plain nuts and it ain't gonna fly! At least, not any more.

Now that Romney's fate is becoming more and more apparent, I fully expect his big donors to begin jumping ship and redirecting their money towards House & Senate races in a desperate bid to keep from losing Congress as well. Not sure it's gonna help, but I'll just bet that's what happens.

I'm confident that President Obama will be re-elected by big margins and if the republicans keep opening their mouths, we'll retain the Senate and win back the House as well. One can only hope.

I for one, am sick and tired of listening to the bat-crap crazy s#@t coming from the neo-con evangelical right wing TP/GOP and I think that the majority of my fellow americans are sick of it too.

F&S for the OP!
