I Don't Know What Happened Today Did I Time Travel Bacwards THIS IS WEIRD

Hello ATS, my Husband went to the office this morning and was gone a few hours, i was outside having a smoke when I heard his car pull up in the drive diesel engine so I know the sound I stretched to look through the posts and saw the tail end of the car and it was black which is the colour of our car, the dog got all excited and I said to her Daddy's here, I heard him put the car in the garage, however i finished my smoke and went back into the house, he never came into the house, I thought maybe he's in the car talking on his mobile, so I checked his skype and he's still online in the office he hasn't left the office and he certainly isn't in the garage on his mobile, so what did I see and hear, this has really freaked me out today as i've never experienced anything like this before, so my question is what do you think I heard and saw, has anyone else had this happen to them please, I would love to hear from you if you have thanks?

I don't understand how such a thing is possible honestly. I wouldn't say if you had time traveled somehow, it was backward - I would say it was a slip into the future; when he was just getting home.

Have you considered Occam's Razor? Its much more plausible to consider that it could have been mentally induced rather than Time Travel.

Any family history of mental illness? Eat anything weird or out of the ordinary that day?

Did you go out to the garage and check to see if there is a car parked?

Maybe a neighbor?

Very interesting. I have been reading quite a lot of accounts of this nature recently. Time slip? I dunno, Parallel Universe? I dunno. Had you jumped into the future when it would be his normal home time, then would the time of day/sun position not suddenly be different? Hmmmm.
I can see how it would freak you out though. Interested on hearing more from you and other posters, will flag this thread.

If you're going to invoke Occam's razor, at least do it correctly and where it fits.
What sort of food would "plausibly" cause apparitions out of the blue?

I don't think you're going to find out an explanation here, OP.
It's impossible for anyone who wasn't there to determine what this was.
My guess would be, a mistake. Mistakes do happen, and sometimes they can be quite weird.

Reading your post reminded me a lot of something my mother experienced when I was around 4 years old - around 35 years ago now but she never had anything like it before or since but it still mystifies her and was put down to some sort of strange 'premonition'.

Apparently my Auntie had taken me and my cousin ( aged 3) out for a walk to the park, leaving my mother alone in the house. We had been out for some time when my mum looked out of the window and saw the three of us returning, walking down the path towards the house ( we lived in the last house at a 'dead-end'). She saw me sitting in my cousin's pushchair (stroller), with my leg elevated and crying, being pushed by my auntie an my cousin walking next to her. Seeing us, she boiled the kettle to make us a warm drink as it was a cold day.

Expecting us to come through the door at any moment, she waited, and waited......nobody came through the door. She looked again out of the window but nobody was there. She felt anxious at where we could possibly have gone but could only wait. About an hour later we arrived home and she opened the door to find me, as she had seen before, in the pushchair, my leg elevated, grazed knee, crying etc. She grilled my auntie as to where we had been, why we did not come home an hour ago when she saw us approaching.
My auntie, confused, insisted, and still does to this day, that she had been at the park all of that time but returned home right away when I fell over and hurt my knee!

As I mentioned, she has never forgotten this event ad is not typically prone to flights of fancy or doesn't have any interests in psychic phenomena etc. This was a first for her, and a last, as far as I know!
A premonition could be an explanation.
I think also our brains sometimes hear familiar 'cues' for familiar events that happen regularly, such as your husband returning home and maybe piece together sounds and sights that are similar to those expected but not actually happening. Don't know if that makes sense.....kind of 2+2=5 scenario. The dog reacting with excitement is also suggestive that it wasn't just your imagination!

No I didn't check the garage, no I DON'T DO DRUGS. He's still not home either as it was today that it happend so okay then it may not of been backwards but forwards yes I never give that one a thought, I just can't tell you all how real of an experience this was for me today and it did spook me, plus the dog saw him too as she got all excited so how does this work the dog too, I have no mental issues and I havent' eaten anything strange either, I will continue to follow my thread as i'm interested to see if others have experienced the same as I have today, thanks for your replies everyone so far I really do appreciate them.

I'm guessing a more appropriate use here of Occam's Razor is it didn't happen, or the OP is making it up.

Hi davesmart, now then i've never ever heard of a Doppelgangers before so i went to the site and i must say it's a fascinating read, but I never saw my husband just the car isn't life strange and wonderful at the same time, I can't believe I've had this strange experience today but some how i'm quite pleased that i did, my Husband of course is going to think i'm balmy he's a sceptic on every thing poor man, so when i tell him he drove his car home and then flew back to the office it's going to make him crack up, oh well thanks for the info on Doppelgangers it was a good read I enjoyed it thanks.

Alright!..Me and my Nephew were chatting the other day in my Living room I started to Load up a PS3 Game I was going to show Him... The Load Screens Started up as we were chatting, Developer Graphics and such when the Next thing WE BOTH Noticed Was We were talking about how the Clock on the PS3 is an Hour off and I should Reset it in the Accessories menu as I was Doing this we BOTH Realized The Last Thing we were doing was Chatting as the Game was Loading up!!! How did I Jump From a Load Screen to Changing Time on my Gaming System and not exit the Game?!? It really Bugged us Both out! I am now starting to wonder if its Part of "THE Shift" we are processing through? Thank you for Posting I don't feel so weird now..!But is Something Happening? ...(Do de do do do de do do..) ('')

Hello lovely1973, thank you for your reply it's very strange isn't it and what a wonderful story your mother has told you it's far more interesting than mine, and I WON'T call it a story as they are not stories these things really did happen, so thank you for taking the time to tell of your mother's encounter with the future, it was a nice read.

Simple explanation - you didn't see or hear what you thought you did. Happens to me all of the time when my mind is wandering.

I too have experienced this phenomena, and attribute it to Parallel Universes.
In my house, things disappear, tools, small things. disturbing, yes, but later they come back again. I have a favorite Phillips screwdriver I use to repair computers with. I keep it in a tin pan I use for a toolbox, on a shelf right by my desk. A few days ago, it went missing. We all went on a hard target search, cleaned the entire house, and looked in the yard, though I could not see it there, it just seemed logical to look everywhere. I finally told the wife I would have to break down and buy a new screwdriver. the next morning I get up, sit down at my computer, look down, and there it is! Sitting on top of everything else in there, pretty as you please. There are other things too, this is just one. I am convinced the Dimensions/Universes are crossing each other in some places, and may soon affect all of the world.

Sounds like a fetch. This same thing happened to my Dad when he was a teenager. My Nan was sitting by the fire one night when my Dad came through the door after being out with his mates, said 'I'm off to bed, good night' (IIRC) and went up the stairs. A little while later, my Dad really did come home. Actually, this sort of experience seems to be not that uncommon. Traditionally it's supposed to portend death but I can confirm that that is a load of cobblers as my Dad is now 70 years old and still going strong.

The returning screwdriver sounds more like something my 12yo would do. When you say, "We all went" on a search, do you have children?

But to the OP and Lovely1973, I have experienced this before, but it was so strange and unexplainable, I put it out of my head as something I must have imagined, so I can not recall the details. Something minor, yet very, very strange.

Anyway, maybe the Matrix theory of reality is correct, and we all just experienced a "glitch"? Hope not.

Actually the Occam's Razor explanation for this would be you making it up, not her.
