If the electorate is not going to judge who is best for their political leaders, who is? It IS my job to judge his competence, whether I run for office or not. As a US citizen, it is absolutely my job.

Well... If you voted for Mr. Obama the last time around, it seems you did a piss poor "job". If you support him this time around, and I know you do, you have become even worse at that "job". Considering your regression, you should be fired.

See ya,
Milt

I've always said that the Russian and Americans are very similar to each other, they are equally fond of clowns, but it is one thing when it's just the clowns and another thing when it's scary clown with a nuclear weapon

Milt, that's just your opinion. And to be truthful, with what I've read from you here, your opinion isn't something I'm all that concerned about. I think I did a fine job. And I am happy I made the decision I did. As I said, people are free to say what they think of me, just as we are free to say what we think about Romney and his unfortunate and ill-informed robot-ness. My success will be judged by ME and my happiness. Not how much money I make.
And certainly not by what random ATS members think about me.

To be honest, it pleases me that the people are becoming exponentially more intelligent and informed than their leaders - there's a tipping point somewhere in all of this somewhere down the line, may Truth and Wisdom come to power!

Now all we need is a billion dollars, and one among us will figure that part out.

First things first, let's do an audit of Executive Powers so as to avoid any possibility of a future dictatorship, and let's make sure that Corporations are not protected or given the rights of people.

Yeah, but here's the thing... his business basically involved a very small specialised skillset and a particular attitude.

It's wholly debatable if those skills are transferable to the Presidency and whether or not his attitude is appropriate for being the leader of our country.

It's also debatable whether or not things like a basic understanding of science and maths, or in the case of someone like Dan Quayle, spelling and history, are important...

I reckon I can't really argue with any of that, but I feel that "actions speak volumes more than words":

When Romney was sworn in as the 70th governor of Massachusetts on January 2, 2003, both houses of the Massachusetts state legislature held large Democratic majorities. He picked his cabinet and advisors more on managerial abilities than partisan affiliation. He declined his governor's salary during his term.

Upon entering office in the middle of a fiscal year, he faced an immediate $650 million shortfall and a projected $3 billion deficit for the next year. Unexpected revenue of $1.0–1.3 billion from a previously enacted capital gains tax increase and $500 million in unanticipated federal grants decreased the deficit to $1.2–1.5 billion. Through a combination of spending cuts, increased fees, and removal of corporate tax loopholes, the state ran surpluses of around $600–700 million for the last two full fiscal years Romney was in office, although it began running deficits again after that.

Source

That seems to show that Mr. Romney did a much better job of governing Massachusetts during his four year term, than Mr. Obozo, the do nothing Senator from Illinois, is doing at governing the United States during his current term.

I don't think he has the proper attitude toward the majority of American, or toward the role of governement, I also don't think he's really smart enough for the job... that's my prerogative and my opinion..

I feel that Mr. Romney's actions in office show that your "thinking" is flawed. Regardless of what you "think", those actions, without doubt, show that he is no moron!

See ya,
Milt

AHEM. According to your source, one guy has said he was joking, a Romney supporter no less.

Now who needs a lesson in journalism...?

I also find it hard to believe that Romney was making jokes mid-recounting his wife's dramatic experience, choking on smoke with an airplane on fire etc.

One attendee out of a thousand attendees who claims he thought it was humor...is not a debunking.

No excuses...right? Let's look at the numbers for Romney's tenure..

from December 2002 to December 2006, Massachusetts ranked 47th out of 50 states (not including the District of Columbia) in job growth.

www.politifact.com...

Massachusetts ranked No. 1 in state debt per person when Mitt Romney was governor. It’s true

www.factcheck.org...

That seems to show that Mr. Romney did a much better job of governing Massachusetts during his four year term, than Mr. Obozo, the do nothing Senator from Illinois, is doing at governing the United States during his current term.

Reality...and the residents of Mass. disagree with that statement.

Romney is losing Mass. by 24 points right now...what does that tell you about the folks who know his leadership best?
www.realclearpolitics.com...

Second....Romney is the one that strangely continues to make the argument that what works at the state level (Healthcare Reform - Romneycare) doesn't work at the federal level (Obamacare).

So (a) He abused Mass. and the folks there are voting Obama by one of the hugest margins in the country...they remember....and (b) His miserable experience there isn't applicable anyways according to his own logic.

This is just another distraction in a long list of distractions by the media to avoid talking about the real issues in this country. Obama is an absentee President. He has done NOTHING to improve the horrible economy he inherited. Over 23 million "officially" unemployed (a hell of a lot more if you count real numbers) An energy policy that has caused steadily increasing energy costs. A record number of people on food stamps, with no plan on how to get them off of them and self-sufficient again. Gets his Obamacare passed, the single largest tax increase on the middle class in US history. On top of that, he adds over $5 trillion to an already out of control debt. All of which he refuses to take any responsibility for.

His foreign policy is an absolute shambles. The world looks at him as a light-weight and takes advantage whenever they can. Afghanistan's military has basically turned on us, because we announced when we would be leaving and they know they can't prevent the Taliban from coming back into power after we leave. Muslim terrorists attack our embassies around the world, on 9/11 and he excuses it as an uprising over an obscure video that has been around for months. Even today at the UN he sticks to the "it's the movie" story and called the murder of our ambassador and 3 others as a "bump in the road." If Romney had said that, the MSM would be spending they entire week talking about it. He completely ignores our allies, but bows down to the leaders of countries that want us dead.

He has done nothing to deserve reelection. Those sheeple on the left (yes the 47%) that will vote him simply because he has a D after his name need to really wake up. If everything I listed above were done by a Republican President, you would be up in arms. Why are you willing to accept it from Obama?

Not at all...there are capitalists like Steve Jobs and Bill gates...they make stuff...and then there are Vulture Capitalists who indiscriminately feed on the weak and suffering for sustanance.

Romney is a very "successful" vulture....but he has never made anything himself. Only fed upon dying entitites by driving up thier debt to pay himself and his partners and then driving them into bankruptcey. In his spare examples of companies that survived, he was nothing more than a financial leech feeding off thier work as evidenced that none of them truly recovered until AFTER they severd ties with Bain.

SOME Wealthy Americans are "greedy", sociapathic "SOBs"....And Romney is of that ilk. Many wealthy Americans understand what Romney is and what fairness is...

As a matter of fact...the two wealthiest men in the United States according to Forbes...Warren Buffet and Bill Gates?...they both think that Romney is a joke and the tax rate on the wealthiest Americans needs to go up.

See how actual thought works? As opposed to blindly claiming that HALF the country "Takes no responsibility for thier lives?"

Just one serious question: Do you really think Obama thinks there are 57 states in the US?

Or is it more likely that he meant 47 of the 48 contiguous states?

He was trying to express the thought that in all the time he had spent on the campaign trail so far, in 2007-08, he had visited all (48) of the states in the continental US, save for one (i.e., "one left to go," excluding Alaska and Hawaii), but in his weariness, he slipped up and started off with "fifty" instead of "forty". (Note the long pause on the video clip between the words "fifty" and "seven").

Snopes

Now, you can stop repeating that stupid lie. Or you can continue. It's really up to you.

I kinda wondered- but with all the *other* bs coming out of these pie holes- It sounded par for the course for my ears. Keep in mind, I think the whole political system is about as smart as a mayonnaise sandwich.

DON'T YOU DARE BESMIRCH THE GOOD NAME OF MAYONNAISE BY COMPARING IT TO A POLITICIAN!

You Junior Aerospace Engineers do know that you can open a window on a plane without it magiclly falling out of the sky Hollywood style right?
I thought we all would have learned this when we had the TSA agents having firearms on the plane. You know back when those of us who actually know things and are not trying to make political tactics told you that modern pressurized aircraft actually already have a big hole in them. A valve open to the outside that regulates the pressure and that shooting holes in the side of the plane or shooting out a window will not instantly suck people out through their rectums. Remember when we reminded you about the flight to Hawaii that lost a large portion of the cabin ceiling and did not explode and fall from the sky.

Yes you can open a window on a modern jet liner without it killing anyone. There will be a massive rush of air and it will get extreamly cold. The masks will drop from the overheads to provide oxygen since at that altitude the oxygen is thin. And guess what??? since the oxygen is thin any fire will go out. Provided this is done with all passengers and crew in their seats the biggest risk is unsecured materials in the cabin. The cold air is a danger but in that kind of emergency the pilots will be dropping altitude as soon as possible and getting back to more managable temps and oxygen levels.

Just keep trying this same tactic over and over again. Reagan is dumb. Bush is dumb, Bush2 is dumb. Now Romney is dumb....you tools are like a broken record.

Show us this window, oh majestic one!

Seriously... "open a window"?? They're double paned, sealed, and the only thing that can be yanked on with success is the freaking blind!

Oh, and they have fire suppression systems...

I didnt say that passenger windows actually open.
I said you COULD open a window.

Read that two or three times if you need too.
