What I said really isn't that complicated...

Nor does it add any value at all to the thread.

And you are by taking up half a page to dissect a simple statement?

(the thread is of no value in the first place)

I'm so sick of all the Doom and Gloom scenarios blowing up the message boards on this website. Granted my opinion might not help, but at least it's there.

what about the situation where you wake up to miserable people living out their miserable lives....like how life has been carrying on?

Exactly, did you even read my OP?

Yes I did, which is why I said stop going on, why is it being discussed? This is quite pointless.

I can't really argue with that.

Everything happening on this planet, every single day is pointless. Your point?

Ding ding ding!! This man is 100% correct. It will be another day.I'm betting when Dec 22 comes there's going to be a lot of people(ats users included) who are going to feel REALLY dumb.

His point is that a whole lot of people are making a big deal about something that they have no proof is going to happen. Personally I'll be here on the 22nd rubbing it everyones face

You're kidding me, right? One of the most feared and hyped up days for years is coming up and you truly believe that NOTHING will happen? Just like nothing happened on "Y2K"? Except for people going apes%*t, freaking out, and rioting.

There doesn't have to be an uncontrollable event that happens for something to happen that day. Society is so hyped up about it that they will ensure something will happen. They will riot and they will go crazy. I promise you with every fibre of my being that it's not going to be a "normal day".

That's where you are wrong my friend. Society isn't even thinking about it. It's people on websites like these that ARE. THEY are the ones making this into something it isn't. I'm willing to bet my life savings that NOTHING will happen that day. It will be another boring day here in the States. Bank on it.

It's only feared by nut jobs, like I said, it's conjecture. Even the Mayans say their calender does not predict the end of the world, it's based on nothing.

Oh but society IS thinking about it. They just aren't talking about it too much. I just mention the date of December 21st at work or hanging out with friends and everyone is quick to chime in with their opinion and theories.

On the days leading up to Dec. 21st its gonna be all over TV and talked about by everyone. You'll be able to feel the anxiety in the air. It most certainly WILL NOT be an ordinary day.

Dood, relax. Nothing "bad" is going to happen but there is a planetary--perhaps universal--awakening that has already started and will continue throughout 2017. The reason it might be bad is because some people are going to fight it because they don't know any better or simply don't understand. No, I'm not talking about a religious awakening, I'm talking about an awakening in consciousness--more like a realization that we're much more than just hunting meatbags. That we can and should embrace interstellar travel, that we can and should solve some vexing problems--like cancer, hunger... Relax... There's nothing specific about 2012, but things are starting to change, just go with it and enjoy the ride.

You are too certain. Maybe we will be here on the 22nd. But you do not know its your opinion and opinions are cheap. We are human we have a life span of about a hundred years in a universe that is billions of years old. We use tools like logic to try and understand reality around us. They are tools. They create models of reality. Not reality itself. We have no idea where we came from. Why we are here and where we are going... We do not know much....

What I am curious to see is what ATS will be like the day after.

First off, the 2012 forum should be erased forever and forever.

Secondly, I can already picture it, all the doomers saying oh wait they were off by a year, its actually 2013! and other such tripe.

I am personally done with this foolishness.

Already planned my holidays, looking forward to putting my feet up for a couple of weeks camping up on the Murray river.(border between Victoria and New South Wales) in Australia.
Do a bit of Fishing, sink a few beers listen to the cricket on the radio. Normal Aussie stuff. Nothing is going to happen. I will be back at work second week of January 2013.
