The scary part of it is that the Cuban population couldn’t see it coming and I fear a majority of us here in the USA don’t see it coming either.

Yes. you should be concerned. Evidently, you have some protection so take advantage of it. However, I completely believe: So, I have read posts from people who are completely apathetic, posts from people who are completely dependant on the government and posts from "survivors". It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who would be around after a global disaster. Those who live without already, those who have prepared, those that can survive. To put it bluntly, the "giveruppers" are already dead. I unfortunately have to add my son amoung these. He claims he will be dead by the age of forty (why I don't know) and is adament about living life to the fullest. By the way, he is only 24 years old. I am completely baffeled by his attitude. I am seeing a lot of his attitude if you will, on ATS site and it bothers me. We are inherantly designed to survive, so when I hear young people today choosing not to survive, I have to wo nder what has gone wrong.

I'm all for the revolution, just not sure where to begin. Any ideas?

Doom porn, yes. I have been out of the US since 2007, before the election of Obama. Things may not have gotten better there and quite likely even gotten worse but I would remind people that may have forgotten, these problems did not start just on Obama's watch.

When I was retiring in 2006 we were concerned with our charter flight that brought us to our work location and back weekly that we were soon going to be mandated to follow TSA requirements to board our required flights. This was already in the works long before Obama. The gun-running to the Mexican crime gangs did not start under Obama either, that was already going on before it got exposed on his watch - and the whole story has not yet come to light.

Americans should do well with paying attention to the direction the country is heading, and they should not be distracted by watching one party's leader and not paying attention to what the other hand is doing - these are both arms of the same organism. The potential problems are from places beyond party politics but most often can be seen prarie-dogging there. Those rabbit holes are inter-connected and go much deeper than that.

Americans seem overly complacent about giving up their individuality in order to see their society conform to rigid societal standards backed by force of law. Before you are all largely heading orderly in the same direction you should ask yourselves, do you really want to go there?

The main problem here is right now short of a revolution, we can't get past over or above our so called representatives. Those congressmen and senators that are supposed to have our best interests at heart are really out for themselves.
Why can they vote on a pay raise for themselves? That should be illegal. Yet how do we get a vote out and then GET THEM TO PASS IT? Of course they won't let that bill slide.
Reagan got in because he promised to get rid of the super pacs,yet they changed what they were called back then and kept right on bribing our congress.
Do you think they will put a stop to it? Highly unlikely.
There should be a cap on they're pay.If they are there to SERVE the people,then they should be paid a minimum amount and serve.Not look at they're service as a get rich quick with they're war chest scheme
But you'll never get them to change that either.
They should have the same term limits on them as on the president, ha ha try to get that one past them.
The president only has so much power, for the rest he has to go to the congress, and these are the most corrupt people ever!

Ok, so, realistically, even if Obama was a communist, he would have never been 'allowed' to achieve the progress that he's made. No offence to anybody, but does the majority of the U.S. really think that Obama is a communist or socialist? Seriously.. TPTB are the grand puppeteer masters.

It dosen't matter who is elected President. The President who is elected has to do the bidding of TPCG. If the elected Presidents don't do as told, they will end up as JFK etc.
