damnit... not again..... EVERY ONE of them can go if the local population turns... No embassy on earth will stand long against even a small % of a city deciding they have to be evicted. Not without the kind of force it would cross into EVIL to use against civilians.

Time to go, I think....leave the ones under threat that haven't come under siege yet. We can always go BACK....but from the outside in, with initiative and on our own terms, if we choose to return to some of this at all, in my opinion.

True. I think we should start evacuating our embassies in the middle east right about now. Come back when we are sure it is safe and with military protection.

Yeah, I really don't know that we have a choice as this develops. If it were one nation attacking our Embassy, the very thought of just leaving would be out of the question in my mind. Weakness on steroids and neon signage. This is a whole block of countries that are all recently changed to a new direction of ..development...to try and keep this all as on topic and out of other topics as possible.

I think they're making it clear....quickly...that new direction isn't one they want the U.S. living in the middle of, inside their new..whatever it's becoming there.

As much as it pains me....I think leaving temporarily beats the hell out of a couple over-run Embassy compounds. Has the State Department even evacuated dependents out of the Embassies in all these various nations seeing issues? I know some are hardship posts and never had dependents, like Yemen...but I think I'd seen 7 as the number the State Department was dramatically raising security on. (??)

Possibly people have just had enough of america, I know I have. Reap what you sow is perhaps becoming apparent in the ME.
